Summary: There is a growing number of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for non-pharmacological interventions for breast cancer survivors, but the development methodologies and recommendations are inconsistent. This study critically appraised and summarized the available non-pharmacological interventions recommended by CPGs for breast cancer survivors to manage symptoms and promote health. The findings showed variations in recommendations and limited evidence quality, indicating a need for more rigorous methods in developing high-quality CPGs.

Summary: This study evaluated the quality of evidence supporting recommendations in international guidelines on bronchiectasis in adults, and found that newer guidelines had higher quality ratings. However, more high-quality evidence is still needed. The assessment identified four guidelines that were recommended for use, with the highest scores in the domains of scope and purpose.

Summary: Sinomenine (SIN) has multiple pharmacological effects in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), including reducing the release of inflammatory cytokines and blocking the destruction of bone and cartilage. Its regulatory effects on alpha 7nAChR, methylation levels at specific GCG sites, and direct targeting of GBP5 gene enrich the possibilities for its treatment in inflammatory immune-related diseases.

Summary: This systematic literature review critically appraises study designs evaluating spondyloarthritis (SpA) phenotypes in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The review finds that the characterization of SpA phenotypes in IBD patients remains incomplete and suggests the need for standardization of variables and definitions in order to advance clinical and research purposes.

Summary: Existing recommendations on the use of methotrexate (MTX) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) show consistency in some aspects, such as baseline assessments, monitoring, and folic acid supplementation. However, there are disagreements in key aspects of MTX use, such as starting dose, route, titration, and monitoring intervals, highlighting the need for adaptations to facilitate implementation in least developed countries (LDCs).

Summary: This study aimed to assess the methodological quality of pediatric guidelines for COVID-19 management in India. The study found that the available guidelines have low methodological quality, particularly in terms of methodological rigor. There was diversity in the quality of different aspects of the guidelines. There were no significant differences in the quality of Indian vs. foreign guidelines, updated vs. original versions, and guidelines developed earlier vs. later in the pandemic.

Summary: This study systematically explored the role of multiple biomarkers in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The results showed that these biomarkers are helpful tools in clinical practice for RA diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and prognosis prediction. However, further research is needed to investigate novel biomarkers that may be related to patient responsiveness.

Summary: This study examined the challenges faced by Arab immigrants in adopting healthy lifestyle behaviors and managing stress related to acculturation and religiosity. Through face-to-face focus group discussions with Arab health promoters in Canada, it was found that certain religious or cultural beliefs may hinder physical activity, particularly for women and older individuals. However, religiosity can also play an important indirect role in stress management through socialization, family support, and coping strategies. Younger people in Arab communities appear to be more flexible in dealing with religious and cultural issues.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a rapid change in the way physiotherapy services are delivered, with a significant increase in the implementation of telerehabilitation. This study aimed to identify the barriers and facilitators of telerehabilitation clinical implementation by examining the experiences of Canadian physiotherapists during the initial wave of the pandemic. The results showed that while physiotherapists enjoyed and found telerehabilitation useful, limited access to implementation evidence, a reduced hands-on approach, and a lack of validated remote assessments were reported as barriers.

Summary: This review highlights a recent increase in research on leisure-time physical activity in advanced cancer, particularly in studies examining exercise interventions using traditional quantitative methods. There is still limited understanding of patient experiences and perceptions towards LPA, as well as little knowledge about other leisure activities for this population. Further research is needed to address the gaps in the current literature and develop personalized, evidence-based supportive care strategies in cancer care.
