Summary: This study assessed experiences of morally distressing situations and perceptions of ethical climate in paediatric oncology care. The results showed that nurses perceived morally distressing situations as relatively uncommon, except for those related to time shortage, poor continuity of care, and unsafe staffing levels. Most nurses found it disturbing to perform procedures on school-aged children against their will, and a significant portion reported doing so often. Perceptions of ethical climate were positive, with healthcare professionals being perceived as attentive to children's wishes.

Summary: This study assessed sexual dysfunction and concerns among patients with myelopathy in India. Results showed impaired psychogenic erection, reflex erection, and ejaculation in male patients, as well as reduced psychogenic genital arousal, impaired reflex genital arousal, and absent orgasm in female patients. Some patients experienced decreased or absent sexual desire, and a significant proportion did not participate in any sexual activity after the injury/illness. The main reasons for non-participation were bladder and bowel accidents, spasticity, and difficulty in positioning. Comprehensive neurological rehabilitation should address sexual function to improve patient's quality of life.

Summary: This study aims to assess sexual dysfunction and concerns among Indian patients with myelopathy. The results showed that psychogenic and reflexive erectile dysfunction, as well as ejaculatory impairment, were common in male patients, while psychogenic and reflexive genital arousal were reduced in female patients. Many patients also experienced changes in sexual desire and involvement in sexual activity, primarily due to bladder and bowel accidents, spasticity, and difficulty in positioning.

Financial concerns were more prominent than mental health issues. More than half of students expressed willingness to get vaccinated, but a significant portion also feared potential side effects from the vaccine.

Summary: Despite the publication of PedIMMPACT in 2008, a wide variety of pain scales are still being used in pediatric post-operative pain trials. Only a minority of trials provided an explanation for their choice of pain scales, with reasons often including validation and references to prior studies. The impact of PedIMMPACT on the selection of pain scales seems limited, raising ethical concerns about the ongoing use of numerous scales in pediatric pain trials.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis on the use of a combination therapy of thiamine, ascorbic acid, and hydrocortisone in septic ICU patients, and found that it improves the change in Sequential Organ Failure Assessment score within 72 hours. However, the improvement is modest and its clinical relevance remains uncertain. The impact of this combination therapy on renal failure and mortality is still unclear.

Summary: This study aims to describe the patterns of HRQoL changes at 6 months after high-risk oncological surgery and assess the level of regret among patients and their next-of-kin regarding the decision to undergo surgery. Patients over 18 years old undergoing specific surgeries are included in this prospective observational cohort study. The primary outcome is the proportion of patients with changes in HRQoL at 6 months after surgery, while the secondary outcome is to assess regret levels.

Summary: The contribution of occupation-related diseases to the global burden of disease is often underestimated, especially in Switzerland. To address this issue, a research project was conducted to assess the need for and quality of occupation registration in Swiss cancer registries, and to find a suitable strategy for collecting this information. The accuracy of occupational information was found to be lower in registries that actively searched and verified this data. The use of a standardized questionnaire to improve the quality of collected occupation data was recommended.
