Summary: This study investigated whether running with increased duty factors can reduce internal musculoskeletal loading measures. The results showed that running with increased duty factors decreased peak muscle forces and peak joint contact forces, suggesting that it can be a preventive strategy to reduce running-related injuries.

Summary: Wearable robots are developed to aid or replace human gait locomotion. Gait pattern analysis is required for assisting gait locomotion, and a wearable sensor is needed to measure body information such as joint angular velocity. However, accurately measuring joint angular velocity is challenging due to the attachment position of the sensor and the invisible anatomical human joint axis. Hence, a sensor calibration algorithm is proposed to align the sensor axis with the anatomical human joint axis and provide appropriate assistance. Additionally, a continuous sensor-compensation algorithm is proposed to correct changes in sensor location caused by body movement or interaction with the ground. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is demonstrated through gait locomotion experiments and applied to a real wearable robot system for ankle assistance.

Summary: The study focuses on the biomimetic performance of the knee joint in lower limb prostheses, using an optical 3D motion capture system to collect motion data and designing a prosthetic knee joint with good biomimetic performance. The results show that the prosthetic knee joint can help amputees complete various gaits and provide important data for prosthetic designers, suggesting potential wide applications in prosthetic design and other fields.

Summary: Initial acceleration is crucial for success in sprinting, but running-induced fatigue can impair acceleration. However, little is known about the effects of fatigue on acceleration and the associated running technique. In this study, well-trained running athletes were able to maintain acceleration despite changes in running technique, possibly by compensating with increased knee joint function due to greater fatigue in the hip extensor muscles.

Summary: Hemophilia is an inherited hemorrhagic disorder that causes bleeding in muscles and joints. The most commonly affected joints are ankles, knees, and elbows, followed by shoulders and hips. Pharmacological prophylaxis with factor replacement therapies or non-replacement drugs can reduce musculoskeletal hemorrhages, but observing and restoring the child's motion patterns is crucial in preventing subclinical bleeding and the progression of hemophilic arthropathy.

Summary: In this study, the distinguish degree of selected parameters on samples with different properties in anchor drilling was discussed by monitoring multiple drilling parameters. The results showed that analyzing the drilling process with comprehensive multiple parameters is more suitable. Additionally, the sample location, fixed rotation speed, and drill bit type may affect the experimental results.

Summary: This paper presents a method based on wavelet neural network to reduce reliance on wearable kinematic sensors in gait analysis, focusing on the limitations of wearable kinematic sensors. The method utilizes vertical Ground Reaction Forces measured from foot kinetic sensors to estimate joint angles, which has the potential to improve the efficiency of real-time outdoor gait studies.

Summary: This study explores the impact of natural conditions on fire scale and finds that the occurrence of lightning fires in the Great Xing'an Range has increased over the past decades due to global warming. The fire season generally starts in spring and the fire-affected areas are influenced by factors such as air moisture content, topographic slope, and maximum surface air temperature. Lightning strikes play a significant role in fire frequency, while climatic conditions shape the fire-affected areas.

Summary: The tensile strength of a single dovetail joint was studied using experimental, numerical, and analytical methods. A numerical model based on the cohesive model using the Traction Separation law was constructed, and an analytical model based on the mechanical properties of the wood and geometric dimensions of the dovetail joint was proposed. Limited experimental tests were conducted to validate the numerical and analytical models by changing the thickness, length, and width of the dovetail joint. The results showed that the numerical model was efficient with ratios ranging from 0.84 to 1.35, while the analytical model underestimated the tensile strength with ratios ranging from 0.63 to 0.85.
