Summary: Our study found that PAFAH1B3 is upregulated in LUAD tissues and cells compared with noncancerous tissues and cells. It is positively correlated with distant metastasis, TNM stage, and poor clinical outcome, and serves as an independent prognostic risk factor for LUAD. Silencing PAFAH1B3 suppresses proliferation, invasion, and EMT, while increasing the cell population in the G0-G1 phases. Additionally, knockdown of PAFAH1B3 increases E-cadherin level and decreases N-cadherin level, inhibiting tumorigenesis and neutrophil infiltration in the xenograft tumor model.

Summary: The study revealed the significant role of SFXN1 in lung adenocarcinoma, promoting cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and inhibiting apoptosis, affecting the progression of LUAD. SFXN1 could serve as not only an independent prognostic marker but also a potential target for LUAD therapy.

Summary: Liquid biopsy, particularly the examination of circulating tumor cells (CTCs), has shown promise as a noninvasive method for detecting cancer-related biomarkers and monitoring treatment response in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. High CTC count has been correlated with poor prognosis, while a decrease in CTC count during treatment may indicate increased sensitivity to therapy. Additionally, molecular characterization of CTCs can provide valuable information on tumor biology and mechanisms of resistance to targeted treatment.

Summary: The study found that miR-939-5p is significantly upregulated in glioma tissues and cell lines. The upregulation of miR-939-5p predicts a poor survival rate and may serve as an alternative prognostic indicator in glioma. High expression of miR-939-5p promotes proliferation, migration, and invasion in glioma cell lines.

Summary: In this study, POSTN was identified as a promising biomarker for predicting the prognosis of lung cancer patients. Upregulated POSTN was found to be associated with immune cell infiltration, particularly in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). Downregulation of specific miRNAs targeted by POSTN, such as has-miR-144-3p and has-miR-30e-3p, was also linked to poor prognosis in LUSC patients.

Summary: Microgravity is a potential strategy for developing cancer therapies, particularly in lung cancer. This study demonstrates the influence of microgravity on cellular processes and the migratory capacity of lung cancer cells. It identifies differentially expressed genes associated with the prognosis of lung cancer under simulated microgravity and highlights the potential of these genes as tumor suppressor biomarkers. The study also reveals the ability of microgravity to revert the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition phenotype and suggests new therapeutic opportunities for lung cancer treatment.

Summary: This study found that RELL2 is highly expressed in cancer and is associated with poor prognosis in many cancers. RELL2 expression is significantly associated with tumor microenvironment, MSI, and TMB, as well as the expression profiles of immune neoantigens and immune checkpoint genes. The results suggest that RELL2 may serve as a prognostic biomarker in pan-cancer.

Summary: This study found that the expression of KLHDC8A was higher in glioma tissues and was associated with patient clinical characteristics. Gliomas exhibited an immune characteristic with high abundance of macrophages, neutrophils, regulatory T cells, and immune checkpoint PD-L1 expression. KLHDC8A+CD68+ macrophages and KLHDC8A were predictive of unfavorable survival in glioma patients.

Summary: Alterations in protein glycosylation have an impact on tumor progression and immune responses in the tumor microenvironment. In this study, researchers evaluated the expression and role of KRTCAP2 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). They found that high expression of KRTCAP2 was associated with unfavorable prognosis in HCC and correlated with the immune microenvironment. The findings suggest that KRTCAP2 could serve as a prognostic marker for HCC patients and have implications for predicting immunotherapeutic responsiveness.
