Summary: Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is the most common acquired thrombocytopenia in children, and its diagnostic evaluation has become complex. The availability of genotyping and in-depth evaluation methods such as immunologic and platelet assays has improved the ability to determine the causes of the disease and consider underlying genetic and immune disorders.

Summary: The ILQI is a valid and reliable tool to assess the HRQoL of patients with ITP, with a unidimensional structure and high reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.90). ILQI scores increase monotonically with increasing severity of ITP, and are correlated with measures of fatigue and emotional well-being, supporting its construct validity. Previous clinical cut-off scores for impaired HRQoL were revised to better aid patient-centric decision-making.

Summary: The study found that individuals with hidradenitis suppurativa experience delays in diagnosis and suboptimal disease control. They receive on average 15 different types of treatments, but pain control is poor. The disease has a negative impact on work and school attendance, affecting their quality of life.

Summary: This study investigated the opinions of patients and experts on the potential important outcome domains for therapeutic hand eczema (HE) trials. The results showed that both patients and experts considered "symptoms," "signs," and "HE-related quality of life" as important measurement domains. Suggestions for other domains were also collected. These findings will help determine the core outcome domains for treating hand eczema.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the impact of lenvatinib versus sorafenib on health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma. The findings showed that lenvatinib group had generally favorable changes in most HRQOL scales compared to sorafenib group. Patients treated with lenvatinib experienced significant delays in deterioration in specific domains.

Summary: The majority of patients who choose mastectomy alone do so for quicker recovery and to avoid foreign body placement. Patients with lower satisfaction are more likely to lack support from their surgeons, have a higher BMI, or undergo unilateral procedures. Higher satisfaction is associated with receiving adequate information about surgical options and having a specialized breast surgery practice.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the clinical relevance of the modified Rankin scale (mRS) as a research outcome measure for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) survivors. Through an international cross-sectional survey of 355 aSAH survivors, family members, and caregivers, it was found that there was poor agreement between self-assessed outcome, actual mRS score, and dichotomization of the mRS score into good/poor outcomes. Approximately 30% of respondents believed that the mRS should not be used as an outcome measure in future aSAH trials.
