Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the application value of multiparametric ultrasound in the baseline characteristics of suspected cervical lymph node metastases in head and neck cancer before induction chemotherapy or chemoradiation. The results showed that multiparametric ultrasound can classify suspected lymph node metastasis more accurately and improve the monitoring of subsequent treatment.

Summary: This study evaluated the performance of ultrasound in detecting cervical lymph node metastases, with subjective ultrasound sensitivity and specificity found to be 0.79 and 0.99 respectively. The predictive ability for tumor deposits less than 8 mm in size remains weak.

Summary: This study developed and validated a nomogram for predicting lateral lymph node metastasis in medullary thyroid carcinoma patients. Significant risk factors for LLNM in MTC patients included male sex, tumor size >38mm, multifocality, extrathyroidal extension, and distant metastasis. The nomogram showed good discrimination and clinical utility in predicting LLNM.

Summary: This study evaluated the clinical value of 1251 seed implantation in the treatment of lymph node metastasis in 111 cases of RAIR-DTC. It was found that 125I RSIT can significantly alleviate the clinical symptoms of RAIR-DTC patients with LNM, and the size of the metastatic lesions is relevant to the treatment effect.

Summary: Skin cancer, especially non-melanoma skin cancer, is the most common malignancy worldwide. The management of different types of skin cancer is not clearly defined in scientific literature. Some require surgical removal, but the management of regional metastasis may vary, and microscopic metastases may be undetectable. This article summarizes the current literature on managing non-melanoma skin cancer that has spread to regional lymph nodes.

Summary: Neck swelling caused by lymph node metastasis is an early symptom of head and neck cancer, but the primary tumor may not be clinically evident. Diagnostic imaging can help identify the primary tumor or detect its absence in cases of unknown primary cervical lymph node metastases. The distribution and characteristics of lymph node metastases can aid in locating the primary site, while imaging findings such as cystic changes and calcification can provide further clues. Disruption of anatomical structures and the use of PET/ CT can also assist in identifying the primary tumor. These imaging approaches facilitate prompt identification of the primary site and accurate diagnosis.

Summary: This study aimed to identify risk factors affecting clinical decision making for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) of the upper oral cavity. The study found that lymph vessel infiltration and grade of differentiation were associated with an increased probability of cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM). Elective neck dissection should be performed for OSCC of the upper oral cavity, and sentinel-lymph node biopsy can be an alternative for early-stage and clinically node-negative patients, especially in patients with a tumor depth of invasion (DOI) <= 4.5 mm.

Summary: This study presents a novel evolutionary approach for Explainable Artificial Intelligence, combining Local Interpretable Model Agnostic Explanations (LIME) with Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithms. The results show that this methodology can find high quality explanations and has the advantage of automated parameter fine tuning.

Summary: The risk of contralateral non-SLN metastases in patients with unilateral SLN metastases in vulvar cancer is low, suggesting a need for further investigation into the impact of contralateral lymphadenectomy on patient survival.

Summary: This study aims to identify lymph node involvement in OSCC performed in a bilateral systematic approach based on presurgical MRI and CT. The results showed positive lymph node involvement in levels 1 and 2, while no involvement was seen in level 5. Therefore, without any clinical or imaging suspicion, expanding to 5-level MRND should be avoided.

Summary: There are uncertainties in clinical lymph node staging in head and neck carcinoma. This study found inconsistencies between clinical and histopathological lymph node staging in some patients, suggesting that treatment intensity can be reduced without affecting survival.

Summary: The study evaluated the relationship between deep inguinal lymph node metastasis and pelvic lymph node metastasis in PSCC, finding that deep ILNM is the most accurate factor for predicting PLNM. Patients with deep ILNM should be referred for pelvic lymph node dissection, as it indicates poor prognosis.

Summary: This study revealed significant differences in molecular and immune profiles between single lymph node metastases and multiple lymph node metastases in breast cancer patients. Single lymph node metastases were associated with more aggressive tumor characteristics and more favorable immune characteristics compared to multiple lymph node metastases.
