Summary: This paper proposes an enhanced routing protocol, called E-ZEAL, which improves the performance of wireless sensor networks in terms of energy consumption and data delivery. By using a clustering algorithm, E-ZEAL finds the optimal path for the mobile-sink node, leading to reduced energy consumption and faster data transmission. Experimental results demonstrate that E-ZEAL significantly reduces energy consumption, improves data delivery, and prolongs the network's lifetime.

Summary: Battery-free wireless sensor networks have attracted research interest due to their ability to prolong network lifetime through ambient energy exploitation. However, the minimum-latency many-to-many communication scheduling problem in BF-WSNs has not been studied. This article proposes an energy-adaptive and bottleneck-aware scheduling algorithm for BF-WSNs, which is shown to have high performance through extensive simulations.

Summary: With the development of new-generated IT technologies and the launch of a series of industrial Internet of things platforms, service-oriented manufacturing has become an inevitable trend. Platform-based manufacturing service collaboration (MSC) is recognized as a solution for complex and personalized manufacturing demands. However, the changes in supply and demand on the platform are usually unpredictable. This article explores an adaptive scheduling mechanism to cope with the dynamic uncertainties of both supply and demand in platform-based MSC.

Summary: This article investigates the Minimum Latency Aggregation Scheduling (MLAS) problem in EH-WSNs and identifies a new type of collision called energy-collision. Several special structures are designed to avoid it during data aggregation. Three scheduling algorithms are proposed under the protocol interference model, and several approximate algorithms are designed under the physical interference model to improve performance.

Summary: This study focuses on fairness-aware resource management in a multi-user and multi-server mobile edge computing network, aiming to minimize task execution latency while considering resource constraints. It proposes a low-complexity iteration based algorithm to find the global optimum of the problem by solving a convex feasibility problem in each iteration. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed resource management strategy can reduce the maximum task execution latency of users by more than 15% compared to baseline approaches.

Summary: In recent years, there has been a rapid adoption of low-power Wireless Sensor-Actuator Networks (WSANs) in process industries. However, the current approaches to autonomous transmission scheduling for industrial WSANs fail to consider the traffic loads of different devices, compromising the network performance. In this article, a novel Autonomous Traffic-Aware transmission scheduling method called ATRIA is introduced, which improves network reliability and reduces latency without introducing additional overhead.

Summary: This paper proposes a framework to address the impact of physical link interference and the validity duration of knowledge on the Age of Information (AoI) in wireless networking. The framework includes a mathematical formulation of the cooperative data transmission scheduling optimization problem and explores the effects of integrating auxiliary nodes and altering network-wide parameters on AoI performance. A greedy algorithm and a reinforcement learning algorithm are proposed to optimize the scheduling, and simulations are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.
