Summary: This study found that PAX3 is overexpressed in SKCM and is associated with poor prognosis. Knockdown of PAX3 inhibits proliferation, invasion, and migration of SKCM cells and reverses tumor cell EMT. PAX3 may serve as a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker for SKCM.

Summary: This study reveals that CNPY2 is up-regulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and negatively correlated with patient survival rate. CNPY2 binds to ribosome proteins to prevent their inhibition of MDM2, and enhances the UPR activity of protein kinase RNA-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase and inositol-requiring transmembrane kinase endoribonuclease-1 alpha, leading to destabilization of p53 and cell-cycle progression. Transcriptome analysis also shows that CNPY2 is required for the expression of oncogenes induced by HCC.

Summary: In this study, the researchers found that the expression levels of IGHG1, ZEB1, and CSTF2T were all high in melanoma cells. ZEB1 directly binds to the IGHG1 promoter, promoting melanoma cell proliferation and invasion. CSTF2T directly binds to ZEB1 mRNA, and silencing CSTF2T inhibits ZEB1 expression, thereby suppressing melanoma cell proliferation and invasion.

Summary: This study reveals the mechanism of how deubiquitinating enzyme USP3 promotes tumor progression and metastasis in gastric cancer. The downstream targets of USP3, COL9A3 and COL6A5, are identified using isobaric tags technique. The results show that USP3 interacts with and stabilizes COL9A3 and COL6A5 through deubiquitination, playing a crucial role in the oncogenic activity of USP3 both in vitro and in vivo.

Summary: This study reveals the upregulation of RNF187 in colorectal cancer (CRC) and its association with poor prognosis. Inhibition of RNF187 expression suppresses the proliferation, migration, and invasion while promoting apoptosis of CRC cells. miR-144-5p is identified as a direct target of RNF187, and its downregulation in CRC tissues is negatively correlated with RNF187 expression. Restoration of miR-144-5p significantly inhibits CRC cell progression, which can be abolished by overexpression of RNF187.
