Summary: Clustering and closure coefficients are widely used indicators to describe the topological structure of a network. This study extends these coefficients to incomplete triangles in weighted directed multilayer networks through the introduction of the clumping coefficient. The proposed coefficients are organized into a systematic taxonomy and can be adapted to different scales of multilayer networks. The tensor formalism is also used to unify the new and existing definitions, allowing for comprehensive analysis of network structure. The effectiveness of the proposed coefficients in capturing different characteristics of network structure on different scales is demonstrated through applications to simulated networks.

Summary: This study proposes a new clustering coefficient for multiplex networks to describe the interactions between assets in the financial market. By applying it to a multiplex temporal financial network based on the returns of the S&P100 assets, the effectiveness of the proposed measures in describing the dependencies between assets over time is demonstrated.

Summary: Synchronous extreme rainfall events during the India monsoon season have been persistent over the past century, tending to concentrate in Central India and remaining highly localized. These events are correlated with El Nino Southern Oscillations (ENSO), with more synchronization during strong El Nino periods and less during La Nina conditions.

Summary: Vehicular accidents can happen anywhere and at any time, but research suggests that spatial and temporal dependencies among accidents likely exist. Analyzing the morphological characteristics of accident hot spots and tracking their dynamics is crucial for mitigation and prevention efforts. A GIS-based framework can be utilized to facilitate the analysis of hot spot morphology over time and detect informative spatial and temporal patterns.

Summary: This article investigates the impact of network topology on classical node centralities, including degree, closeness, betweenness, and eigenvector. Through constructing two types of growing scale-free networks with adjustable clustering coefficient and assortativity, and simulating three null models on ten real networks to adjust cluster and assortativity, the study finds that cluster and assortativity have a significant impact on node centrality in complex networks. Therefore, it is important to consider network topology when selecting node centralities to identify the significance or influence of nodes in complex networks.

Summary: This research constructs a multilayer network of line flow by building a line network with the Space L model based on complex networks and a passenger flow network with smart card big data. It improves the calculation method of the clustering coefficient of weighted networks, introduces the concept of node group, and calculates the clustering coefficient of nodes and the whole network in the multilayer network. The degree of passenger flow activity in the network thermal diagram is used to represent the passenger flow activity of the line-flow network. This method can be used to evaluate the clustering effect of metro stations and identify the business districts in the metro network, thus improving the level of intelligent transportation management and providing a theoretical basis for transportation construction and business planning.

Summary: This study analyzed the structure and dynamics of flight networks in the European airspace for 50 airlines in 2017. The findings revealed that the concentration of nodes in the flight networks varied significantly among airlines, reflecting the heterogeneity of their business models. By examining the occurrence patterns of different motifs in the airline networks, an unsupervised classification of airlines was obtained using hierarchical clustering techniques. The resulting hierarchical tree provided valuable information about the properties and characteristics of each airline.

Summary: This paper introduces a technology that uses blockchain and clustering scheme to build secure and smart vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs). This technology improves data integrity, security, resource allocation, and streamlines processes in the transportation system. The proposed technique utilizes quantum mayfly optimization-based clustering scheme to establish a secure VANET and employs blockchain technology as trust infrastructure. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the technique in protecting data integrity and achieving high throughput.

Summary: With the development of intelligent transportation systems, clustering methods have gained significant attention for traffic pattern recognition in road networks. However, the complex relationships among different segments in road networks have been overlooked. To address this issue, this study proposes a clustering method for motif-based attributed road networks and demonstrates its superiority through experiments.

Summary: Nowadays, it is important to identify profitable product combinations in large product networks. Sophisticated techniques, such as centrality metrics, are commonly used for data exploration and analysis. This research introduces a novel method called global clustering coefficient-dependent degree centrality (GD) for analyzing profitable product links in a large network. The results show that GD is preferable over other methods to avoid uncertainties in computation and to improve scalability.
