Summary: This study addresses the problem of set-membership secure fusion estimation against malicious attacks. A novel secure estimation model is developed to describe multi-sensor fusion systems subject to two-channel bounded attacks by dividing the attacked information into two parts related and unrelated to the initial value. An existence condition of the set-membership secure fusion estimator is presented to ensure that the secure fusion estimation errors are always confined to expected ellipsoids. The secure fusion weight matrices are determined by solving a constructed convex optimization problem constrained by a linear matrix inequality condition. The rationality of the designed set-membership secure fusion estimation algorithm is verified using two simulation examples.

Summary: In this paper, the problem of multi-dimensional consensus subject to internal agent dynamics constraint and external non-cooperative malicious attacks is investigated. A secure discrete-time multi-dimensional consensus algorithm (SMCA) is proposed, which utilizes two-hop information to check the integrity of neighboring agents' information. A necessary and sufficient condition for all normal agents to achieve consensus exponentially under SMCA is derived. Analytical expressions for the effects of boundary-case attacks on the final state and convergence rate are obtained by casting the problem as an equivalent problem of multi-dimensional consensus with nonuniform time-delays under SMCA. Compared with existing works, SMCA can achieve multi-dimensional consensus for all normal agents with local dynamics even when the number of compromised agents is unknown. Finally, extensive simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Summary: This article proposes a novel intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) backscatter enhancing strategy for secure multi-input multioutput (MIMO) transmission. The IRS is used to backscatter the jamming signal into the desired signal, thereby enhancing user reception. The system secrecy rate is maximized through joint design of IRS reflection coefficients and active beamforming at the base station (BS). An iterative block coordinate descent (BCD)-based algorithm is adopted to efficiently solve this nonconvex optimization problem, and the robustness of the proposed scheme is examined considering channel estimation errors. Extensive simulations confirm the secrecy performance gains achieved by the proposed strategy and its superiority over conventional IRS-based physical layer security (PLS) strategies and other baselines.

Summary: This paper addresses the issue of secure estimation for the state of charge of Lithium-ion batteries in the context of malicious attacks during data transmission from sensors to cloud-based battery management system terminal. It introduces a second-order resistance-capacitance equivalent circuit model for describing the internal dynamics of lithium-ion batteries, with parameters identified using Kalman filter in an off-line manner. The paper then proposes a chi(2) detection mechanism to detect real-time malicious attacks, and designs a secure estimator to mitigate the impact of attacks on the estimation performance. Experimental results under Federal Urban Driving Schedule condition validate the effectiveness of the proposed attack detection approach and estimation scheme.

Summary: The development of efficient cathode-side ORR catalysts is crucial for the practical application of fuel cells and ZABs. In this study, a facile and green photochemical method is used to synthesize MnO/N-rGO catalysts with highly catalytical activity and stability. The catalysts exhibit exciting ORR performance in alkaline media and outperform Pt/C-based GDE half-cell and Pt/C + RuO2-based ZABs in terms of overall performance and long-term durability. The synergistic effect between MnO nanoparticles and N-rGO support is the key factor contributing to their enhanced performance.

Summary: In this study, an efficient prediction method combining the finite element (FE) method and convolutional neural network (CNN) was proposed to investigate the process-induced deformation (PID) of composite structures with different stacking sequences. Experimental results showed that the accuracy of the PID assessment using the FE simulation and CNN model was 96%, with the CNN model completing the rapid prediction in 9.67 seconds compared to 6 minutes using only the FE simulation. Additionally, this method is applicable to cloud map prediction of composite parts with different design parameters.

Summary: Pesticides can have long-term effects on aquatic ecosystems through transgenerational toxicity, particularly for chiral pesticides. This study evaluated the maternal transfer risk of the chiral triazole fungicide tebuconazole (TEB) in zebrafish models and found that exposure to the R-enantiomer of TEB had greater impacts on offspring malformation and swimming speed compared to the S-enantiomer. Enantioselective effects on thyroid hormones and related genes were also observed, highlighting the importance of enantioselectivity in the ecological risk assessment of chiral pesticides through maternal transfer.

Summary: A homogeneous manganese-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of secondary alcohols was developed for the synthesis of gamma-disubstituted alcohols and beta-disubstituted ketones. The protocol, using Mn-MACHO(Ph) as the catalyst, exhibited a wide substrate scope and good functional group tolerance, resulting in diverse valuable disubstituted alcohols and ketones in moderate to good yields. The selective formation of alcohol products was found to be influenced by reaction temperature, with alcohols favored over ketones at lower temperatures.

Summary: Here, we report a manganese-catalyzed three-component coupling reaction for the synthesis of beta,beta-methylated/alkylated secondary alcohols. Our method efficiently constructs assembled alcohols with high chemoselectivity in moderate to good yields using a series of 1-arylethanol, benzyl alcohol derivatives, and methanol. Mechanistic studies suggest that the reaction proceeds via methylation of a benzylated secondary alcohol intermediate to generate the final product.

Summary: We present a precise measurement of the asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) for the O-16 ground state (GS), which has a strong effect on the C-12(alpha, gamma)O-16 reaction rate. Based on the new ANC, the astrophysical S-factor and stellar rate of the reaction are determined, leading to an increase in the total reaction rate within the temperature range of astrophysical relevance. The updated reaction rate also impacts the pair-instability mass gap for black holes.

Summary: Anomaly detection in fundus images is challenging due to the diverse types of lesions and their properties. Current methods reconstruct or separate the fundus image background, but ignore the constraint from lesions and struggle with distinguishing lesions from backgrounds with normal personalized variations. To address these challenges, we propose a patch-based non-i.i.d. mixture of Gaussian model to adapt to diverse lesions and introduce a weighted Schatten p-norm for enhancing background learning. By modeling diverse lesions and learning background and personalized variations, our method outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Summary: This study investigated the contamination levels and temporal variation of PBDEs and NBFRs in agricultural soils in China. The concentrations did not vary significantly over the past decade for PBDEs, but lower-brominated congeners increased with time. The concentrations of NBFRs also increased over time, with higher concentrations in 2021, 2016, and 2013 compared to 2011. The health risks of PBDEs and NBFRs were found to be low, but long-term health risks of BFRs should be considered.
