An isospin-self-consistent pn-continuum-QRPA approach is formulated and applied to describe the Gamow-Teller strength distributions for beta beta-decaying open-shell nuclei. Calculation results obtained for the pairs of nuclei Ge-76-Se, Mo-100-Ru, Cd-116-Sn, and Te-130-Xe are compared with available experimental data.
