Summary: The study compared online, unsupervised and face-to-face (F2F), supervised valuation of EQ-5D-5L health states using composite time trade-off (cTTO) tasks. Online TTO tasks had more inconsistencies and decreased engagement compared to face-to-face (F2F) tasks, compromising data quality. This study highlights the challenges of conducting online valuation studies using the TTO approach.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether a time-based willingness-to-accept (tWTA) question can be used to elicit values lower than -1 and improve the estimation of EQ-5D-5L values. The results showed that using a tWTA question to address the censoring issue of values in cTTO tasks is not an effective solution.

Summary: This research aimed to determine the robustness of the German EQ-5D-5L valuation data for the general population compared with those with health impairments. The results showed that people with self-reported health impairments do not have different EQ-5D-5L health state preferences compared with the German general population.

Summary: This research developed algorithms to map EQ-5D-3L responses to EQ-5D-5L value sets and found that including indicants of problems for other dimensions as regressors in the model improved prediction accuracy. Adding age and gender lowered AIC without improving predictions, while including a latent factor slightly improved predictive accuracy. Models conditioning on problems in other dimensions yielded more accurate predictions than an alternative copula-based approach.

Summary: The main objective of this study is to estimate a national value set of the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire for Iran. The cTTO and DCE methods, along with the EQ-PVT protocol, were used to estimate the value set. Through data analysis, a heteroscedastic censored Tobit hybrid model combining cTTO and DCE responses was identified as the best fitting model.

Summary: This study examined the effects of age, immigrant background, and self-reported health on the ability to complete the time trade-off (TTO) in a general population sample. The results showed that older age, poor health, and immigrant status increased the likelihood of non-completion and slow completion of the TTO tasks.

Summary: The study analyzed a subset of data from the German EQ-5D-5L valuation study, examining severity levels per dimension, means, standard deviations, and confidence intervals of index and EQ VAS values by age groups and gender. Health problems were reported more frequently with higher age, leading to decreasing index and EQ VAS values. Men reported fewer problems than women, particularly beyond the age of 80.

Summary: The objective of this study was to derive population norms for the EQ-5D-5L in Canada using a representative sample. Data from the Canadian EQ-5D-5L valuation study were analyzed, and the results showed that pain/discomfort was the most frequently reported problem, while self-care was the least. The study provides the population references for economic evaluations and clinical research in Canada.

Summary: This study investigates the benefits of an extensive pilot phase and strict implementation of quality control tools in improving face validity and prediction accuracy of cTTO data in EQ-5D-5L valuation studies. The results show significant improvement in face validity and reduction of prediction errors in the actual data compared to the pilot data. However, a more extensive pilot phase may be more beneficial for studies with initial issues in protocol compliance and interviewer effects.

Summary: The study aimed to estimate population norms for the Romanian versions of EQ-5D-5L, EQ-5D-3L, their indexes, and EQ VAS. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a representative sample, and descriptive statistics were used to estimate population norms by age groups and sex. The findings provide reference values for healthcare professionals, researchers, and decision-makers in Romania.

Summary: This valuation study aimed to produce a value set for the use of EQ-5D-5L data in decision making in Slovenia. Through survey and data analysis, the value range and variations of 3125 EQ-5D-5L health states were determined. The results have important implications for the use of EQ-5D-5L in Slovenia and neighboring countries.

Summary: This study generated the first value set representing the stated preferences of the Mexican adult population for use in estimating QALYs. The resulting EQ-5D-5L value set is technically robust and will facilitate health economic analyses as well as quality-of-life studies.

Summary: This study compared the psychometric properties of the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire with the EQ-5D-3L version and EQ VAS in the general adult population of Poland. It found that the EQ-5D-5L had similar or better psychometric properties compared to its EQ-5D-3L equivalent. The novel approach of using a machine learning technique known as the random forest algorithm for construct validity assessment proved to be effective.

Summary: This study examines the differences in time preference and health state valuation between children and adults. The results suggest that time preferences have a small impact on utilities in both perspectives, and different valuation methods can lead to different utility results. These findings have important implications for the valuation of EQ-5D-Y-3L.
