Summary: The study on nano-size effects of high-Tc cuprate superconductor La2-xSrxCuO4 reveals that slowing down of Cu spin fluctuations and development of magnetic correlation occur in nanoparticles, with the magnetic correlation strengthening as particle size decreases. This is different from the superconducting state observed in bulk form, indicating the appearance and enhancement of magnetism in La2-xSrxCuO4 nanoparticles.

Summary: We report complementary magnetic measurements of the stretched diamond lattice material LiYbO2 using the local-probe technique of muon spin relaxation. We observe two magnetic transitions and persistent magnetic fluctuations at different temperature ranges, indicating complex magnetic properties in this material.

Summary: This article extends the concept of spintronics to the longitudinal component of magnetization and introduces the variables of magnetization and spin accumulation. The macroscopic equations are developed using Onsager's irreversible thermodynamics, and the space and time response is studied.

Summary: Topological superconductivity is an exotic phenomenon characterized by the symmetry-protected topological surface state. This study investigates the time-reversal symmetry and gap symmetry of a topological noncentrosymmetric superconductor PbTaSe2 through muon spin relaxation/rotation experiments. The results reveal the absence of internal magnetic field in the superconducting state and a fully-gapped isotropic three-dimensional single-band gap. These findings contribute to the understanding of the pairing mechanism and classification of topological superconductivity in this system.

Summary: The self-diffusion coefficient of Li+ ions in LixCoO2 was determined using a positive muon spin rotation and relaxation technique. The results showed that DLiJ increased as the Li content decreased and exhibited two small minima at x≈2/3 and x≈1/2. Furthermore, DLiJ showed a similar trend to the self-diffusion coefficient estimated using electrochemical techniques.

Summary: In this study, the self-diffusion coefficient of Na+ in P2-NaxCoO2 was measured using an operando muon spin rotation and relaxation (mu+ SR) technique. The results showed that DNaJ ranged from 7 x 10(-12) to 2 x 10(-11) cm2/s, decreasing with decreasing Na content x. However, the electrochemical technique determined a higher apparent self-diffusion coefficient (D-Na(J),app) than DNaJ, except at x = 1/2, 2/3, and approx. 0.72. The mu+ SR measurements also revealed a strong temperature dependence of Na dynamics near room temperature.

Summary: The operator growth dynamics of the transverse field Ising spin chain in one dimension was investigated, showing that it follows a universal scaling law influenced by the longitudinal field. Additionally, a crossover scaling law was observed when the longitudinal field is weak, indicating that a uniform longitudinal field induces chaos in the system at any nonzero value. The implications of the crossover scaling on thermalization dynamics and the effect of a nonuniform local longitudinal field were also discussed.

Summary: In situ muon spin relaxation is used to study ionic diffusion processes in a NASICON-type all-solid-state battery. Lattice matching of the cathode and electrolyte crystal structures enhances Li+ diffusion to minimize interfacial resistance. This technique allows for simultaneous observation of intrinsic ionic dynamics and electrochemical behavior in a nondestructive manner.

Summary: The modified piezoelectric ultrasonic composite oscillator technique was used to measure the temperature dependence of Young's modulus, shear modulus, and internal frictions of polycrystalline aluminum and magnesium. The grain boundary internal frictions and moduli relaxations were observed near the melting point in both vibration modes. The activation energy of grain boundary relaxation was similar in both vibration modes, and the peak values of grain boundary internal frictions were significantly dependent on the vibration mode.

Summary: We conducted a nuclear magnetic resonance study on the spin correlations in the spin-cluster-based mineral Na2Cu3O(SO4)3, using magnetic fields ranging from 1 to 33 T. The study revealed the presence of long-range magnetic order, indicated by sudden spectral broadening at TN and critical slowing down behavior in the temperature dependence of spin-lattice relaxation rates [1/T1(T)]. A spin excitation gap was observed above & mu;0H = 7.25 T, as shown by the thermally activated temperature dependence of 1/T1. The linear field dependence of the gap size provided valuable information about the effective magnetic moment and the spin excitation spectrum in A2Cu3O(SO4)3.

Summary: This study developed a cost-effective method to produce high-purity AlN particles from Al powder at lower temperatures. The nitridation rate was accelerated by using smaller Al particles, and the addition of Ar gas regulated the nitridation rate. The use of a mixture of different Al particle sizes increased the degree of nitridation significantly.
