Summary: Wetland forests and scrub (WFS) are influenced by water and consist of various vegetation types. Insufficient research has been done on WFS vegetation in the Balkan Peninsula, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This study used numerical classification to classify WFS in the Western Balkans and identified the main ecological gradients that drive species composition variation. The analysis showed that edafic factors play a significant role in determining the vegetation composition and differentiation of WFS in the study area.

Summary: This study analyzes the perceptions of precision livestock farming (PLF) technology held by stakeholders in the US swine industry using the Q-methodology approach. By following up with stakeholders interviewed 6 months earlier, the study found three distinct viewpoints: PLF improves farm management, animal welfare, and labor conditions; PLF does not solve industry problems; PLF has limitations and could lead to data ownership conflicts. Stakeholders with in-depth knowledge of PLF were optimistic about its potential, while those with basic understanding were skeptical. However, all stakeholders agreed on the importance of training and adoption of PLF. The study's results hold promise for informed decision-making about PLF implementation in the US swine industry.

Summary: Urbanization leads to conflicts in European urban peripheries, with diverging interests in land use, socio-economic aspects, ethnic differences, and human-wildlife interactions. The main conflict categories identified are land use conflicts, socio-economic conflicts, ethnic conflicts, and human-wildlife conflicts. Recommendations to mitigate these conflicts include a combination of top-down and bottom-up policy and planning approaches, implemented by sensitized governance actors.

Summary: The research identifies four main reasons for the limited use of biogas digesters in rural China, including reductions in the rural work force and land area, a poor system of follow-up service, the advantages of alternative energy, and raw material shortages. Additionally, blame shifting between government managers and farmers contributes to the abandonment of household biogas digesters in rural China.

Summary: Since 2006, urban planning has been considered an important aspect of public policy in China. However, the regulation of urban planning has failed to achieve legal goals of resource savings, environmental friendliness, and preservation of natural and cultural resources. Public power interference has resulted in environmental pollution, destruction of heritage, and safety issues.

Summary: The development of Latin American cities is characterized by disorderly expansion, which is expected to continue and lead to increased demand for resources, spaces, and food by 2050. This requires an increase in urban freight logistics operations. However, citizens are often overlooked in solving problems generated by freight operations. This study focuses on logistics activities and stakeholder perceptions in a mid-sized Colombian city, uncovering insights for optimizing urban logistics, promoting sustainable transport, and informing policy formulation.

Summary: Private forest owners in Europe play a crucial role in achieving sustainability goals, yet efficient communication with them is essential. Research shows that one-way communication models are still more widely used than two-way communication models, but the latter is essential for triggering long-term forest management activities. Interactive learning tools can also play a crucial role in engaging non-traditional forest owners.

Summary: This article focuses on the neglected potential role of non-wood forest products (NWFPs) in forest-related bioeconomy research and policy. The study analyses 20 innovation cases in Europe and reveals the lack of a cohesive innovation system supporting NWFPs, with support being sporadically provided through various sectoral or regional systems. However, the results show that NWFPs have rich potential in the forest bioeconomy for private forest owners and producers.

Summary: The potential of forest-based social innovations can be understood by examining existing institutional structures, relevant policies, and the roles of various actors. Case examples from Serbia and Slovenia reveal the embeddedness and gaps within the institutional frameworks of social innovations. Although there is a growing interest in social innovations in both countries, the understanding of the concept is still vague and often equated with social enterprise. External factors, such as Serbia's EU accession and Slovenia's access to EU funds, drive this interest.

Summary: Numerous challenges threaten the sustainable development of cities, requiring fundamental changes in urban development and green-blue resource management. Urban forests are crucial in this transition, providing ecosystem services and reshaping cities. Five key research fields are proposed to generate knowledge for unlocking changes in urban development and green-blue resource management: circular bioeconomy, climate resilience, governance, social and human environment, and biodiversity. Interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement are needed to design greener, cooler, inclusive, and resilient cities.

Summary: This study aims to examine the relationship between the size and quality of urban green areas and residents' health in Belgrade. The results show that residents in areas with less green space have poorer physical, social, and emotional health. The quality of green areas is inversely related to medication expenditure and doctor's visits, suggesting potential health benefits. Residents' appreciation of green areas is influenced by the availability of facilities.
