Summary: This study investigated the anti-melanogenesis effects of enzyme-treated caviar extract (CV) in B16F10 cells and SKH-1 hairless mice. CV significantly decreased melanin production and activity of melanogenesis factors in B16F10 cells treated with IBMX. It also reduced the expression of melanogenesis proteins and factors in UVB-induced SKH-1 hairless mice. The results suggest the potential of CV as a skin whitening food supplement.

Summary: Sulforaphane can prolong lifespan and healthspan by inducing the expression and nuclear translocation of TRA-1/GLI, and thus support healthy aging by regulating daf-16/FOXO. However, the prolonging effects of sulforaphane on lifespan and healthspan are inhibited when TRA-1 or daf-16 is interfered with by RNA interference or using worms with mutants of tra-1 or daf-16 genes.

Summary: Chronic exposure to UV radiation leads to photoaging, and the antiphotoaging effect of AGEs Blocker (TM) (AB) was investigated in this study. AB increased the expression of collagen and hyaluronic acid, while decreasing MMP-1 expression. Oral administration of AB restored skin moisture and alleviated photoaging in mice, and it also upregulated the expression of hyaluronic acid synthase and collagen-related genes. Additionally, AB inhibited the activation of MAPK and AP-1, reduced MMP expression, and stimulated antioxidative enzymes.

Summary: The study found that dieckol can inhibit UVB-induced skin photoaging by regulating the TGF-beta/Smad2/3 and MAPKs/AP-1 signaling pathways, thereby suppressing collagen degradation and MMP expression. In addition, dieckol restored the production of hyaluronic acid, reducing transepidermal water loss, epidermal/dermal thickness, and wrinkle formation.

Summary: Saireito extract (SRT) has a protective effect against UVB-induced photodamage by attenuating inflammatory responses, improving extracellular matrix degradation, suppressing inflammatory cell infiltration, and inhibiting collagen degradation. SRT treatment can also inhibit UVB-induced upregulation of proinflammatory cytokines and improve lymphatic function.

Summary: The HIV-1 Nef protein downregulates the viral receptor CD4 and the antiviral proteins SERINC3 and SERINC5. In the absence of SERINC3 and SERINC5, Nef is no longer required for viral infectivity and replication in Jurkat Tag T cells, but remains crucial for HIV-1 replication in MOLT-3 cells. The Nef-mediated enhancement of HIV-1 replication in MOLT-3 cells is independent of the Nef-interacting kinases LCK and PAK2.

Summary: Pacific whiting skin gelatin hydrolysate (PWG) has anti-wrinkle effects by restoring collagen synthesis, inhibiting collagen degradation, reducing inflammation, and increasing antioxidant enzyme activity. The molecular mechanisms involve activation of the TGF-β/Smad pathway for collagen synthesis, inhibition of the MAPK/AP-1 pathway for collagen degradation, suppression of the NF-κB pathway for inflammation, and activation of the Nrf-2/HO-1 pathway for antioxidant defense.

Summary: Hesperidin, a citrus flavanone glycoside, inhibits UVB-induced angiogenesis in skin by suppressing VEGF, MMPs, and HIF-1α expression. Additionally, it reduces UVB-induced VEGF expression by inhibiting PI3K/Akt signaling pathways, suggesting its potential as a treatment for UVB-induced skin injuries.

Summary: This study isolated 15 compounds from Nymphoides peltata and determined their structures and bioactivities. Among them, 3,4,5-tri-O-caffeoylquinic acid (TCQA) showed significant antioxidant and anti-wrinkle activities. The results suggest that TCQA may be a promising candidate for developing effective antioxidant and anti-wrinkle agents.

Summary: The study demonstrates the protective effect of Acer tataricum subsp. ginnala extract (AGE) against UVB-induced skin photoaging. AGE regulates MMP1 and pro-inflammatory cytokines expression, inhibits the MAPK/AP-1 pathway, and enhances the TGF beta/Smad pathway to promote collagen synthesis, suggesting AGE as a functional material with anti-photoaging properties.

Summary: Harmine prevents bone loss by increasing PDGF-BB production, with Id2 and AP-1 playing important roles in this process. Inhibition of c-Fos or c-Jun can reverse harmine's stimulatory effect on PDGF-BB production in preosteoclasts. This novel mechanism may provide potential therapeutic targets for bone loss diseases.

Summary: Rosa davurica has been found to have high antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory activities, making it a potential therapeutic agent against skin photoaging. It scavenges free radicals, reduces reactive oxygen species generation, and inhibits aging-related signaling pathways. This study suggests that R. davurica has a high biological potential for skin protection and could be used in drug and cosmetic applications.

Summary: Our study demonstrates that the cAMP-PKA signaling pathway is involved in the down-regulation of IgG-IC-associated inflammatory responses by inhibiting MAPK activation. This provides a theoretical basis for the potential use of PDE4-selective inhibitors in the treatment of IgG-IC-related acute lung injury.
