The synthesis of a new metal phosphonate and the influence of pH on its crystallinity is presented. Cobalt styrylphosphonate was synthesized by 2 methods (75 degrees C, 180 degrees C) at pH 1.5, 2, 2.4, 2.8, and 3.2, and its crystallinity was confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction.
