Summary: The study demonstrates that Cordyceps militaris extract has strong effects on modulating macrophages, dendritic cells, and T cells under inflammatory stress, promoting M2 polarization and attenuating M1 polarization. It also enhances macrophage phagocytosis and promotes differentiation of dendritic cells towards CD11b(+) and Xcr1(+) cells, as well as T-reg and natural killer T-like (NKTL) cells.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of vitamin D on patients with T2-high and T2-low asthma. The results show that asthma patients have decreased vitamin D levels, and vitamin D deficiency can exacerbate asthma symptoms. Vitamin D levels are associated with asthma severity, especially in T2-low asthma. Further research is needed to understand the mechanisms of vitamin D on different types of asthma.

Summary: A novel Cordyceps militaris immunomodulatory protein (CMIMP) was identified in this study, which was found to induce macrophages to differentiate into M1 phenotype through the TLR4-NF-kappa B pathway, increasing proinflammatory cytokine secretion. This suggests that CMIMP may be a promising functional food ingredient or medicament.

Summary: CME significantly alleviated the inflammatory progression of GA and ameliorated the onset of GA. The underlying mechanism may be related to triggering the cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction signaling pathway to inhibit the activation of the inflammasome and regulate the immune system. And it regulates the inflammatory response induced by MSU crystals through the genes CCL7, CSF2RB, and IL-1 beta.

Summary: This study found that Cordyceps militaris polysaccharides (CMP) can significantly reduce obesity induced by a high-fat diet, improve hyperlipidemia and insulin resistance, and alleviate systemic inflammation. Additionally, CMP can regulate obesity-induced gut dysbiosis by restoring the diversity of gut microbiota and increasing the abundance of short-chain fatty acid-producing bacteria. This study highlights the potential of CMP as a prebiotic agent to protect obese individuals from metabolic disorders and gut dysbiosis.

Summary: The study demonstrated that S100A4 plays a critical role in regulating mast cell activation and allergic responses. S100A4(-/-) mice showed reduced symptoms in allergic models, indicating that S100A4 is required for mast cell activation and may be involved in the regulation of allergic diseases through this mechanism.

Summary: In this study, the therapeutic potential of GGsTop, a γ-glutamyl transferase inhibitor, on acute asthma exacerbations was investigated using a murine model. The results showed that GGsTop significantly attenuated hallmark features of asthma exacerbation, including airway hyperresponsiveness, mucus hypersecretion, collagen deposition, and expression of inflammatory cytokines. Furthermore, GGsTop restored the level of glutathione and inhibited the activation of the LPS/NFκB signaling pathway.
