Summary: This article introduces the history of hypnosis and its application in sports, pointing out that China's understanding and application of hypnosis are still inadequate. However, with the development of the economy and national power, China has begun to attach importance to the psychological quality of athletes and realize that hypnosis is an effective psychological training method.

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers evaluated the performance of the modified EB mask in delivering continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) under different gas mixture supplies. The results showed that the EB mask can only safely deliver CPAP under strict constraints, using either a high-flow generator at a flow rate greater than 80 L min(-1), or a high-performance turbine-driven ventilator.

Summary: Self-hypnosis significantly reduced claustrophobia in high-risk patients undergoing MRI scans, leading to a decreased need for sedation and non-sedation coping actions. The majority of patients preferred self-hypnosis for future MRI examinations.

Summary: This study failed to show a benefit of conversational hypnosis on anxiety in patients undergoing marker placement prior to surgery for breast cancer. However, the fact that some caregivers had learned this personalized therapeutic communication technique may have had a positive impact on the whole caregiving team.

Summary: This study evaluates the appropriateness and effectiveness of complementary techniques in post-lung transplant patients. The most frequently used techniques before and after transplantation were self-hypnosis, relaxation, and transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS). TENS was found to be the most effective technique, while relaxation was the easiest to learn and appreciated by patients.

Summary: Hypnosis was found to be a feasible non-pharmacological method for reducing anxiety and pain associated with lumbar punctures in older cognitively impaired patients. Hypnosis significantly decreased self-assessed and hetero-evaluated anxiety, as well as hetero-evaluated pain. The study also revealed the overall good acceptance of lumbar punctures in this population.

Summary: Increasing research supports the efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions in alleviating anxiety, though the underlying neural mechanism remains unclear. This study suggests that mitigating anticipatory threat responses may be a potential mechanism by which mindfulness alleviates anxiety. The study found significant mediating effects of anticipatory threat responses on the relationship between mindfulness and anxiety.

Summary: This study adapted a Medical English Language Anxiety Scale (MELAS) based on Horwitz's Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) to examine students' anxiety in various aspects of medical English learning. The results showed that a majority of medical students experienced moderate to high anxiety in listening and speaking, literature reading, academic paper writing, communication, and vocabulary learning. It was also found that rural medical students had higher anxiety levels compared to urban medical students.

Summary: Elevated anxiety levels can degrade task performance due to reduced cognitive function in the frontoparietal brain network. This study investigates the impact of anxiety on anticipatory brain functions in the frontal cortex and explores the potential beneficial effect of response-related feedback on task performance. The results show that anxiety is associated with diminished pre-stimulus ERP components linked with attentional control and motor preparation. However, these components increase in anxious individuals when feedback is provided, leading to improved performance. This study contributes to our understanding of the neural correlates of anxiety and suggests that feedback tasks can help normalize task performance in highly anxious individuals.

Summary: The activity of BLA-BNST neurons mediates conditioned anticipatory anxiety-like behavior in males, but not in females. BLA-BNST projection neurons in males are more active and excitable, with a smaller after-hyperpolarization current (I-AHP) compared to other BLA neurons; while in females, BLA-BNST neurons are less excitable and have a larger I-AHP compared to other BLA neurons.

Summary: The study showed that CPAP had no significant impact on anxiety in CAD patients with nonsleepy OSA. However, a trend of increased anxiety scores was observed in patients adhering to CPAP treatment at 3 months and 12 months, while patients who were non-adherent to CPAP showed a decrease in anxiety scores.

Summary: In this paper, a novel Confidence-Guided Mask Learning (CGML) method is proposed for semi-supervised medical image segmentation. The method introduces an auxiliary generation task with mask learning and a confidence-guided masking strategy to improve segmentation accuracy and feature representation reliability.

Summary: Hypnotherapy is proposed as an emerging tool in the management of postoperative cardiac surgical care. It has been shown to significantly improve emotional distress in patients undergoing surgical procedures. However, more robust evidence is needed to support its routine incorporation in perioperative management pathways.
