Summary: This study found that ovarian mucinous carcinoma (MC) with expansile invasion and ovarian mucinous borderline tumor (MBT) share similar histopathological features and clinical outcomes. MC cases were more likely to be diagnosed at advanced FIGO stages and receive adjuvant chemotherapy compared to MBT cases. However, there was no significant difference in recurrence rate between MC with expansile invasion and MBT. Progression-free survival was worse for MC cases, but it was not an independent prognostic factor in multivariate analysis. The prognostic outcomes of MC with expansile invasion may resemble those of MBT, suggesting that treatment strategies for ovarian borderline tumors could be applied to MC.

Summary: This study compared the pre- and intraoperative characteristics of misdiagnosed appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (AMNs) and primary ovarian mucinous tumors (POMTs). The findings showed significant differences in age, menopausal status, CEA levels, tumor size, presence of multiple nodules, presence of mucinous ascites, bilateral ovarian involvement, peritoneal dissemination, and appendiceal appearance between the two groups. A prediction model was developed to differentiate AMNs from pelvic mucinous tumors.

Summary: This study evaluated the interobserver agreement and diagnostic performance of MRI assessment in predicting the malignant potential of pancreatic IPMN according to radiologists' experience. The results showed substantial agreement among radiologists for high-risk stigmata and better agreement among more-experienced reviewers. The diagnostic performance of MRI assessment for predicting malignant IPMN was good.

Summary: Bilateral ovarian epithelial neoplasms in adolescents are rare, especially with borderline mucinous neoplasms and mural nodules. We present a case of a 17-year-old female diagnosed with a left ovarian tumor accompanied by mural nodules. The surgical removal of the right ovarian cyst, left ovary, and fallopian tube revealed the presence of bilateral ovarian tumor with mural nodules, consisting of sarcomatoid transformation, anaplastic carcinoma, and sarcoma. Post-operation, the patient received chemotherapy and ovarian function protection. Regular follow-up confirmed no recurrence.

Summary: OCIAD2 is highly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma and its suppression affects mitochondrial structure and number, leading to decreased cellular growth, proliferation, migration, and invasion, as well as promoting mitochondria-related apoptosis. It may serve as a potential target for lung adenocarcinoma treatment.

Summary: The study established a novel biomarker resource for serum screening in patients with ovarian cancer to evaluate peripheral immunodynamics, patient survival trends, malignancy risk, and preclinical chemo-immunotherapy strategies. The in silico data-driven framework predicted that analysis of myeloid NF kappa B signaling and interferon-stimulated genes' responses could capture patients' peripheral immunodynamics effectively. Multiparametric serum profiling of patients with ovarian cancer showed that the sFIS assay can decode peripheral immunology, estimate survival trends, and co-estimate malignancy risk.

Summary: This study evaluated the correlation between imaging and tumor markers in predicting the diagnosis of ovarian tumors. The findings showed discrepancies between the two methods, emphasizing the importance of understanding underlying diseases, benign conditions, and rare histopathologies. The study aims to reduce misidentification of tumors.

Summary: This study reveals that cells can survive executioner caspase activation through a process called anastasis, and these surviving cells have enhanced migration and pro-angiogenic capacity. The activation of p38 MAPK plays a crucial role in anastasis and is essential for the elevated migratory and angiogenic capacity in these cells.

Summary: This study developed a two-dimensional radiomics approach using computed tomography to differentiate between benign and malignant ovarian neoplasms. By extracting texture features, selecting the best features, and building a radiomics model, the method improved the classification and diagnosis of ovarian tumors effectively.

Summary: The study compared the diagnostic accuracy of ROMA, HE-4, and CA125 in early diagnosis and screening of epithelial ovarian cancer. ROMA was found to be the best marker for differentiating EOC from benign ovarian masses in postmenopausal women, while HE4 showed promise as a diagnostic predictor in premenopausal women. Further research is needed to explore the full potential of HE4 in premenopausal women.

Summary: This study found that mucinous carcinoma with infiltrative invasion has a worse prognosis compared to those with expansile invasion or mucinous borderline tumors. The infiltrative invasion group had a higher tumor mutation burden and higher risks of recurrence and death.
