Summary: The study analyzed data of new bisphosphonate users and found that longer dosing intervals can improve compliance. Male and older patients were more likely to be non-compliant with pharmacotherapy.

Summary: Medication non-adherence can lead to increased morbidity, mortality, and side effects, while reducing effectiveness. Methodological issues exist in measuring and reporting adherence for asthma and TB, with variations between and within diseases. The communicable nature of TB has made dose-by-dose monitoring a recommended treatment standard.

Summary: The 'Adherence and Persistence in AIT (APAIT)' checklist has been developed as a guide for reporting, designing, and interpreting retrospective studies on adherence or persistence to allergen immunotherapy (AIT). The checklist highlights the importance of transparency in reporting and identifies potential sources of bias in these studies.

Summary: Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) involves gradually increasing the dose of allergen extract until immunologic tolerance is achieved. Adherence to AIT is crucial for long-term success, but measuring adherence and persistence rates has been inconsistent. The development of standardized tools and parameters for measuring adherence in AIT is necessary. Additionally, exploring methods from adherence research in other chronic diseases could help improve outcomes in AIT.

Summary: This study divided adults with ADHD into groups based on their childhood and adulthood diagnosis, and compared characteristics, medication adherence, and persistence. Results showed that treatment in private clinics and initial monotherapy with bupropion were significantly associated with adherence.

Summary: The COVID-19 lockdown significantly decreased adherence to denosumab, with patients managed by endocrinologists more likely to be adherent. Healthcare providers' counseling and education on the importance of medication adherence for osteoporosis patients may vary among specialties and should be further investigated.

Summary: Poor adherence to osteoporosis treatment leads to lower bone mineral density and higher fracture rates. Reliable and practical measurement tools are needed to assess medication adherence. This systematic review aimed to identify osteoporosis medication adherence measurement tools and evaluate their applicability.

Summary: A novel one-step electrodeposition synthesis of drug loaded coating was proposed in this study to improve the treatment effect of osteoporotic fractures. The coating enhanced the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts, while showing no significant inhibition on osteoclasts.

Summary: The Arabic version of General Medication Adherence Scale (GMAS) was validated in Sudanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), demonstrating good internal consistency and reliability, as well as established factorial, known group, and construct validities. A significant association between adherence score and age was found, indicating a higher level of adherence in older patients compared to other age groups. The study sample yielded a normed fit index (NFI) of 0.950, a comparative fit index (CFI) of 0.963, an incremental fit index (IFI) of 0.963, and a root-mean-square error of approximation (RMSEA) of 0.071, suggesting a good model fit.

Summary: The study found that persistence with initial treatment was highest after 1 year and decreased afterwards. Denosumab had the highest persistence, followed by alendronate. Several factors associated with treatment persistence were identified, some of which were the same regardless of the specific medication, which could help target subgroups of patients in terms of social and healthcare support.

Summary: Prior adherence to statins predicts subsequent short-term and long-term adherence and persistence with oral bisphosphonates, but not with parenteral osteoporosis therapies. Other factors associated with oral bisphosphonate adherence at 1 year include older age, history of bone mineral density scan, and history of pap smear.

Summary: This review assessed the adherence of subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) in real-world settings and found that the rates of SCIT persistence and adherence were generally poor. The included studies reported persistence rates ranging from 16.0% to 93.7% and adherence rates ranging from 15.1% to 99%. The wide range of rates can be attributed to the differences in measuring and reporting adherence-related findings among studies.
