Summary: This study aims to explore the processes and principles of embedding reference centers (RCs) for rare cancers in national health systems. The results show heterogeneity in the formalization of RCs' status and their integration in different health systems, with two models (center-based and network-based) envisioned at the national level. Expert clinicians in some countries cooperate in a structured way using network mechanisms and provide a referral system to facilitate access to treatment for patients from non-expert centers.

Summary: This article analyzes the political engagement and mobilization of EU citizens in the UK post-Brexit, and investigates the formation of an EU diaspora in the country. The findings suggest that EU citizens in the UK hold different positions, including national and regional stances, EU-oriented stances, and non-alignment. While Brexit has led to increased European identity and mobilization, the level of orientation and investment in the EU diaspora among EU citizens varies based on these positions.

Summary: Three nonlinear optical materials Cd4REO(BO3)(3) (RE = Sm, Eu, Tb) were synthesized through high-temperature solid-state reactions. The crystal structures contain interconnected Cd(1)O-8 and Cd(2)O-6 polyhedra forming a 3D anion framework with different types of tunnels. The Cd4EuO(BO3)(3) and Cd4TbO(BO3)(3) materials exhibit luminescent properties.

Summary: In recent years, there has been a dynamic trend of digital transformation in commerce, greatly influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the utilization of e-commerce varies significantly among EU countries. This article aims to explain the complex evolution of B2C e-commerce using econometric methods, particularly focusing on individual internet purchases and six socio-technological factors influencing purchase decisions. By analyzing data from Eurostat for all 27 EU countries from 2012 to 2021, cluster analysis reveals changes in country grouping over time. Socioeconomic factors that explain the transition of EU states in terms of internet purchases were identified. The findings of this study serve as a starting point for future e-commerce adaptation strategies in a globally digitized economy, highlighting the importance of digital convergence in the process of digital transformation.

Summary: An intervention project in the community of San Ignacio in the Ecuadorian Andes aimed at improving socioeconomic capacities showed positive effects on sustainability, particularly in functional biodiversity and technological innovation. While there was no significant impact on gender equality, the proposed strategic indicator helped enhance the understanding of gender perspective and led to improvements in factors such as fear, independence, and satisfaction. Long-term evaluation is recommended to confirm the effects of the intervention project within an appropriate timeframe.

Summary: Global biodiversity is declining rapidly, and croplands play a crucial role in biodiversity conservation. However, there is a lack of quantitative methods to assess cropland conservation priorities at the national scale. This study proposes a framework for identifying bird species conservation priorities in croplands at a national scale in China and provides policy suggestions based on landscape patterns and species traits.
