Summary: Here we present the development of a deacylative thiolation reaction for diverse methyl ketones. This reaction is redox-neutral and heavy-metal-free, providing a novel approach for site-specific introduction of thioether groups at unactivated aliphatic positions. It exhibits excellent functional group tolerance and wide substrate scope, enabling late-stage derivatization. The reaction relies on efficient condensation between the activation reagent and ketone substrates, leading to aromatization-driven C-C fragmentation and rapid radical coupling with thiosulfonates. Experimental and computational mechanistic studies suggest a radical chain pathway.

Summary: Silylene ligands have strong electron-donating ability towards the metal center, facilitating oxidative addition reactions and exhibiting good catalytic activity. Future challenges include developing new polydentate silylene ligands, synthesizing chelate silylene-phosphine and silylene-carbene ligands, and designing more silylene transition metal complexes for catalytic research.

Summary: Bis(1-adamantyl)phosphanylsilylene 1 reacted with ArC CR (Ar = Ph, 4-iPr-C6H4, 3-F-C6H4; R = H, Ph) under microwave irradiation at 80 degrees C to produce fluorescence-active SiP-heterocycles 3a-d, which exhibit unique isomerizations through silirene intermediates. Additionally, the reaction of 1 with Ad RP yielded a heavy cyclopentadiene congeners (4), involving the rare cleavage of Si(II)-P bond in silylene chemistry.

Summary: In this study, it was found that the base-free carbazolyl bromosilylene reacts with different platinum complexes to form platinasilacyclobutane and silylene platinum complex. When the silylene complex is treated with ethylene, a six-membered metallasilacycle is obtained. All compounds are characterized by XRD and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy.

Summary: A modified method for iron-catalyzed C-C bond cleavage, amination, and alkylation of nonactivated cyclic alcohols has been developed. The photoinduced ligand-to-metal charge transfer facilitates the generation of O-radicals from alcohols, enabling the subsequent beta-scission and radical trapping. This method offers a broader substrate scope and higher yields compared to previous catalysts, and it can also proceed with electron-deficient olefins for C-C bond cleavage and alkylation of cyclic alcohols.

Summary: This study describes the photochemical functionalization of alkoxyoxazoles with trimethylsilyl azide and N,N-dimethylanilines. These C-N bond forming reactions proceed with the assistance of organic dyes as photocatalyst and molecular oxygen, leading to oxidative ring-opening and access to novel chemical space. The unusual demethylative C-N bond formation in the case of N,N-dimethylanilines establishes a new reactivity pattern for these precursors.

Summary: Selective carbon-carbon bond activation was achieved through fragmentation borylation mediated by B(OMe)(3)/B(2)pin(2), leading to the formation of two C-B bonds in non-polar unstrained Csp(2)-Csp(3) and Csp(2)-Csp(2) bonds. This new reaction mode is expected to stimulate the development of reactions based on inert C-C bond activation, as suggested by preliminary mechanistic investigations.

Summary: This study focuses on the C-C bond cleavage of ethanol on Ir(100), using density functional theory calculations and the degree of dehydrogenation of reactant species to correlate the cleavage barrier and reaction energy. The results show that the cleavage barrier generally decreases with decreasing degree of dehydrogenation, with a local minimum around a specific degree. Additionally, oxygen atom in the reactive species plays a critical role in lowering the C-C bond cleavage barrier.
