Summary: Novel multifunctional pyrimidine-imine hybrids were synthesized and evaluated for their antitubercular and antimicrobial properties. These hybrids showed exceptional antitubercular activity, with one compound (D16) having comparable activity to a commercial drug. They also exhibited promising activity against pathogenic bacterial and fungal strains, with some compounds showing moderate to good activity. Molecular docking studies provided insights into the compounds' binding modes and mechanism of action. This is the first-ever report on the synthesis and biological evaluation of uracil-imine hybrids as antitubercular and antimicrobial agents.

Summary: The activation of Si-H and/or Si-Si bonds in organosilicon compounds by transition-metal species is important, but the preferences of group-10-metal species in this activation are not well understood. Here, it is shown that Pt(0) species selectively activate the Si-H bonds in a linear tetrasilane, while Pd(0) preferentially activate the Si-Si bonds.

Summary: A green electrochemical method was developed for the synthesis of new spiro and dispiro pyrimidine derivatives. The reactivity of the nucleophile (barbituric acids) was found to be crucial in determining the type of product. The synthesized compounds showed good antibacterial performance against gram-positive bacteria.

Summary: Three new dinuclear complexes have been synthesized through a mixed-ligands strategy, where carboxylate groups of ligands bind with metal ions to form different dinuclear SBUs. The structures exhibit diverse coordination modes and magnetic properties, with weak antiferromagnetic or ferromagnetic interactions observed in the complexes.
