Summary: The use of lanthanide-doped nanoparticles as luminescent LFA probes offers higher sensitivity and measurement accuracy for detecting various biomolecules, including enterotoxins. Compared to gold nanoparticle-based LFAs, this method shows at least an order of magnitude improvement in analytical sensitivity and enables simultaneous quantitative detection of multiple biological toxins.

Summary: The study reports a novel lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) based on gold-core-silver-shell bimetallic nanoparticles (Au4-ATP@Ag NPs) with surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and photothermal (PT) effects, named SERS/PT-based dual-modal LFIA (SERS/PT-dmLFIA). This method exhibited excellent performance for antigen detection of infectious diseases pathogens, with high sensitivity, accuracy, and specificity. It is rapid and simple, making it suitable for laboratory testing, mass screening, and home self-testing.

Summary: This study revealed that patients who developed HCC after HBsAg seroclearance continued to have positive HBsAg or HBcrAg levels during follow-up. The levels of HBcrAg in the HCC group were significantly higher than in the non-HCC group, indicating that residual low viral antigen may predict HCC development.

Summary: Common flow cytometry-based methods for functional assessment of antigen-specific T cells have limitations such as complex experimental settings and high unspecific background. A simple method for detecting activated ss(2)-integrins in combination with established cell surface activation induced markers was developed, allowing improved assessment of low-frequency T cell responses. The extracellular staining of these markers highly correlated with intracellular cytokine production in CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells. This method is useful for epitope discovery projects and simultaneous monitoring of low-frequency antigen-specific T cell responses.

Summary: Two calix[4]arene systems can form [3]pseudorotaxanes when combined with CB[7] or CB[8], while [2]pseudorotaxanes based on CB[7] and CB[8] do not undergo decomplexation and dimerization under certain conditions.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the inclusion of NCP in formation brine can enhance oil recovery in heavy oil formations, with an increase in recovery rate of up to 14.1% when the NCP load is increased from 0.25 to 1 wt.%. Furthermore, by incorporating a surfactant (PVA), the oil recovery rate can reach 18.3%, which is 4% higher than using PVA alone.

Summary: The first violet light-mediated synthesis of gamma- and delta-lactams from N-alkenyl trichloroacetamides is reported in this paper. The reactions are conducted in tetrahydrofuran or 2-methyltetrahydrofuran as the sole solvent without catalysts or additives, under non-anhydrous conditions in an air atmosphere where the solvent serves as the radical initiator.

Summary: A new 1,2,4-triazole-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine hybrid system, 6-acylpyrrolo[1,2-a][1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-c]pyrazine, was synthesized using a catalyst-free method. This method involved sequential exposure of pyrrole-2-carbonitrile-derived substrates to DMF-DMA and acyl hydrazide, resulting in the formation of acylated pyrazine and 1,2,4-triazole rings, enabling the installation of various substituents at specific positions on the core skeleton.

Summary: Alcohol dehydrogenases are enzymes that use cofactors for oxidation or reduction reactions of alcohols or carbonyl compounds. They are utilized in green chemistry and have applications in the production of pharmaceuticals. Recombinant enzymes have solved the challenge of producing purified enzymes in large quantities. Engineered alcohol dehydrogenases have been used in asymmetric synthesis in industry. Various methods have been established for regenerating expensive cofactors to make the enzymatic process more efficient and economically viable.
