A new concept is proposed for the optimum addressing of 0D photonic resonant structures with a free space optical beam via the use of an intermediate resonator structure, which is aimed at providing the appropriate modal conversion of the incoming beam, in both the frequency-time and reciprocal-real space domains. It is further proposed that the intermediate resonator consists in a Photonic Crystal (PC) membrane resonant structure, where full use is made of surface addressable slow Bloch modes. Efficient addressing of high Purcell factor metallic nano-antenna (NA), using a large quality factor PC semiconductor membrane resonator is proposed and demonstrated as an illustrative example.
