Summary: The study demonstrates the use of 3D optical coherence tomography (OCT) for analyzing human placenta organoids without sample preparation. Results show that 3D OCT enables detailed monitoring of placenta organoids, visualizing and quantifying internal structures in situ to assess differentiation status and aid advancement in the field.

Summary: A method for simultaneous measurement of static strain and dynamic vibration with high spatial resolution based on millimeter sized ultra-short fiber Bragg grating is proposed in this paper. The measurement is achieved by interrogating cascaded FBGs with optical coherence tomography method using a designed wavelength swept light source. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately measure both strain and vibration parameters with high sensitivity and spatial resolution, showing great application potential in the field of mechanical sensing.

Summary: The study found that the use of ultra-wide-field imaging with red-green channels has limitations in the diagnosis of small choroidal melanoma and is not reliable for early detection. Melanotic naevi and small melanomas exhibit distinct features in red-green channel imaging, which may help predict disease progression and prognosis.

Summary: This study describes a deep learning approach using multimodal data to detect age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and its biomarkers. By applying Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), the accuracy of biomarker prediction reached up to 90.2% (with a positive predictive value of up to 75.8%), offering the potential to expedite screening of early and late-stage AMD patients.

Summary: AS-OCTA demonstrates greater peri-lesional vessel depth and diameter in malignant lesions compared to benign lesions, potentially representing feeder vessels. Vessel depth showed high sensitivity and specificity, while vessel diameter showed 100% sensitivity and 88.9% specificity. AS-OCTA provides novel non-invasive vascular parameters that can aid in the assessment of ocular surface lesions.

Summary: Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) has gained attention as a promising technology for monitoring pharmaceutical film-coating processes and end-point detection. We present an ultra-high-resolution (UHR-) OCT and demonstrate its performance on different multiparticulate dosage forms with different layer structures. The achieved system resolution enables the assessment of defects, film thickness variability, and morphological features within the coating.

Summary: This study reports on the advantages of wide-field and ultra-widefield optical coherence tomography and optical coherence tomography angiography in managing different vitreoretinal diseases in a real-life setting. The results show that these imaging techniques have important clinical applications in peripheral lesions, pediatric and high myopic cases, and postoperative follow-up.

Summary: We report on mid-infrared optical coherence tomography (OCT) at 4 μm with an increased A-scan scan rate of 3 kHz, using collinear sum-frequency upconversion. Two spectral realizations are demonstrated with improved imaging speed and axial resolution, showing potential applications in sub-surface micro-mapping and real-time monitoring of CO2.

Summary: In this study, a low-cost, high-resolution spectrometer design for ultra-high resolution optical coherence tomography (UHR-OCT) is presented, in which multiple standard achromatic lenses are used to replace the expensive F-theta lens. The proposed method achieves comparable performance and reduces the cost significantly.

Summary: Optic tract lesions (OTL) are often challenging to diagnose, but presenting clinical and imaging data systematically in a predefined order can simplify the diagnostic process. Despite the presence of pediatric patients and involvement of other structures, the predefined sequence can aid in easy diagnosis.

Summary: An elliptical beam design was proposed to mitigate aberrations in high-resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT), by sacrificing resolution in one direction to increase the field-of-view and signal back-coupling efficiency. The feasibility of the design was verified through imaging various samples, showing relief of aberration-related issues in high-resolution OCT.

Summary: Patients with NF1 exhibit lower macular RNFL and retinal thickness, along with higher vascular flow area in the SCP. Compared to control subjects, the flow area in the second choroidal layer is also lower in NF1 patients. OCTA is a potentially valuable tool for detecting early ocular abnormalities in NF1.
