Modern chemotherapy protocols and new drugs in oncology often induce peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). Available multidisciplinary strategies in rehabilitation lead to significant improvement of function in daily living despite persistent loss of sensation. On the other hand, medical treatment of CIPN remains unsatisfactory with the exception of analgesics for neuropathic pain. Patients find both occupational therapy and physiotherapy in particular, to be very effective. In addition the targeted use of aids can be trained during rehabilitation in order to retain independence and professional capacity.
