Summary: This pilot study aimed to investigate whether SFR spectroscopy could serve as an alternative or additional technique to detect cervical lymph node metastases. The results showed that three parameters were significantly lower in positive LNs and combined into one optical parameter 'delta', which had high diagnostic accuracy.

Summary: This study demonstrated that the postvascular phase of CEUS with perfluorobutane had excellent performance in diagnosing suspicious small lateral cervical LNs in patients with PTC. It showed improved diagnostic value compared to traditional ultrasonography alone. Overall, this study highlights the importance of utilizing contrast-enhanced US for better diagnosis of metastatic LNs in PTC.

Summary: This study compared the diagnostic performance of FNAC, FNA-Tg, and their combination in detecting lymph node metastases in patients with DTC. It was found that FNAC was more specific, while FNA-Tg was more sensitive. The combination of FNAC and FNA-Tg performed better than each alone, especially postoperatively.

Summary: CryoEBUS has shown higher diagnostic usefulness compared to EBUS-TBNA for mediastinal and hilar involvement, especially in cases of benign pathologies and other tumor types such as lymphomas. Samples obtained by cryoEBUS also allow for better histological subtyping of lymphoma and complete molecular characterization in cases of lung cancer.

Summary: CEUS-guided CNB has been found to be an efficient method for the diagnosis of STTs, especially for those with conventional US features such as location in the deep fascia layer, a maximum diameter >5 cm, rough margin, heterogeneous echotexture, or absence of anechoic area.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed 590 patients with benign cervical lymph node diseases who underwent ultrasound-guided coarse needle biopsy. Among them, 7.46% experienced bleeding after the procedure, with an infectious lymph node bleeding rate of 9.48%. Infectious lymph nodes were more prone to bleeding than noninfectious lymph nodes, and lymph nodes with pus were more likely to bleed than solid lymph nodes.

Summary: Metastatic lymph node involvement in breast cancer plays a crucial role in determining disease stage and prognosis. Neoadjuvant systemic treatment is increasingly used as initial therapy. Imaging and image-guided interventions are essential for lymph node assessment and treatment decision-making.

Summary: In this study, EUS-FNB alone was found to be non-inferior to EUS-FNA+ROSE in the diagnosis of solid pancreatic lesions, with similar diagnostic accuracy for malignancy and excellent histological yield. EUS-FNB alone required fewer needle passes and shorter procedure time compared to EUS-FNA+ROSE, with comparable costs.

Summary: This study compared the diagnostic performance of ultrasound and computed tomography in screening for cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with papillary thyroid cancer before thyroidectomy. The results showed that computed tomography had higher sensitivity and accuracy compared to ultrasound, making it a complementary imaging method for detecting lymph node metastasis.

Summary: Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) was introduced in the 1990s to identify patients who may benefit from completion lymph node dissection. SLNB staging has been found to be the best for staging melanoma. Adjuvant systemic therapy and biomarkers are emerging, which might reduce the need for SLNB staging in the future.
