Summary: Work plays a central role in health, and a conceptual model helps to frame research priorities in exploring determinants of workers' safety, health, and wellbeing. The updated conceptual model considers not only workplace settings, but also broader socio-political-economic environments and trends in employment and labor patterns. Understanding these structural forces will be critical for anticipating the consequences of changes in work conditions and informing decision-making around policies and practices to protect and promote worker safety, health, and wellbeing.

Summary: This study used the textile sector as a case study to compare compliance levels among all areas inspected by DIFE, revealing that occupational health & safety ranked in the middle compared to other worker wellbeing aspects. Significant differences and highly dissimilar patterns were found in compliance scores amongst inspected areas and occupational health items, indicating a need for improvement in DIFE's risk-based approach.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the explanatory power of contextual factors, in addition to individual factors, on emergency department visits and revisits. The results showed that contextual factors significantly improved the model fit and explained more variance in both initial visits and revisits. The factors associated with initial visits included older age, chronic diseases, receipt of home help, etc., while revisits were associated with greater use of social care, hospital admissions, etc.

Summary: The construction industry has a poor safety record, but the use of ergonomics has improved the health, safety, and environment (HSE) management of construction workers. However, there is a lack of comprehensive evaluation on the application of ergonomics in HSE management research for construction workers. This study aims to fill this gap by evaluating relevant peer-reviewed journal papers and identifying future directions.

Summary: This study explored the impact of right hemisphere strokes and associated impairments on carer strain and depression. The results showed that carer strain was positively linked to carer depression, number of carers' concerns reported and survivors' anosognosia levels. Carers' experiences differed qualitatively with caring concerns increasing over time. The study concluded that improving right-hemisphere stroke survivors' recovery and nurturing the carer-survivor relationship are likely to enhance overall outcomes and caring experiences.
