Summary: Benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML) is a rare condition primarily affecting women with a history of uterine leiomyoma. This study aimed to investigate its clinical characteristics and outcomes by reviewing 385 cases from previous reports. The common sites for metastasis were the lung, abdomen/pelvis/retroperitoneum, bone, lymph nodes, and heart. Hormone deprivation treatment, such as oophorectomy and hormone drugs, was found to be the most effective strategy for managing unresectable tumors. This study may serve as a valuable resource for diagnosing and managing BMLs.

Summary: In this case report, a 37-year-old woman with a history of uterine leiomyomas presented with benign metastasizing leiomyomas (BMLs) in the lung and pelvis after hysterectomy. F-18-FDG PET/CT showed faint uptake in the metastatic lesions, while Ga-68-FAPI PET/CT demonstrated elevated activity, indicating low glucose metabolism but excessive accumulation of activated fibroblasts in the BMLs. This case suggests that Ga-68-FAPI PET/CT may be potentially useful in the evaluation of BMLs.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study compared characteristics, disease course, and prognosis of iatrogenic and spontaneous benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML), showing that while both generally have favorable prognosis, spontaneous BML may have a less favorable course.

Summary: Uterine leiomyomas can spread to the lungs and form nodular lesions known as benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML). This study presents three cases of BML, with two having multiple-nodules and one having a single mass, all asymptomatic. The patients were diagnosed with BML at ages ranging from 46-53, and all are stable and symptom-free at follow-ups of two to six months.

Summary: BML is a rare disease characterized by extrauterine benign leiomyomatosis. This study aims to predict the metastasizing ability of uterine leiomyoma and the risk of malignant degeneration of pulmonary BML, with interesting findings and potential diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic perspectives through the analysis of miRNA-221 and miRNA-126.

Summary: Pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma (PBML) is a rare disease that mainly occurs in reproductive-age women and is closely related to sex hormone levels. When faced with female patients with lung lesions resembling metastatic tumors, regardless of a history of uterine fibroids surgery, the possibility of PBML should be considered, and sequential surgical treatment can be arranged.

Summary: Benign metastasizing leiomyoma is an extremely rare disease characterized by the presence of extrauterine spread of smooth muscle cells similar to those of benign uterine leiomyomas. It is often asymptomatic and can present as pulmonary nodules and, rarely, spinal cord compression.

Summary: Diagnosis of uterine smooth muscle tumors depends on histologic characteristics and benign metastasizing leiomyoma is a rare benign tumor that can metastasize outside the uterus. Treatment options require multidisciplinary discussion and depend on the individual case.

Summary: Benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML) is a rare condition that mainly occurs in premenopausal women, commonly with pulmonary metastases. This case study reports a 45-year-old woman with multiple bilateral pulmonary nodules found during a health checkup. The patient, who had no respiratory symptoms, showed reduction in size of lung nodules during follow-up, with stable CT scan results after one year.

Summary: The main strategy for treating pulmonary benign metastasizing leiomyoma (PBML) in young women is to maintain a low-estrogen environment using different kinds of antiestrogen therapies, resulting in satisfying curative effects. A wait-and-see strategy can be considered, but therapeutic approaches must be contemplated when complications or symptoms progress. Sirolimus might be a new treatment option for young PBML patients, especially for those who want to preserve ovarian function.

Summary: Benign metastatic leiomyatosis is a rare disease characterized by the proliferation of smooth muscle fibers in patients who have undergone hysterectomy, usually in locations distant from the uterus. The lungs are the most commonly affected site. These tumors have a slow growth rate and a favorable prognosis, with surgical treatment usually leading to cure.

Summary: Vitiligo is a depigmentation skin disease caused by melanocyte death, with varying responses to standard therapies. This study aimed to identify clinical parameters and gene expression biomarkers associated with vitiligo response to therapy. Shorter disease duration and upregulation of immune active genes were found to be associated with favorable response to treatment.
