Summary: This study analyzes the impact of personality traits, social norms, and attitudes on energy conservation behavior, and draws some conclusions. The study finds that education and gender do not significantly contribute to energy conservation, while convenient lifestyle, the number of vehicles, distance of residence from the workplace, income, perception of energy security, and availability of transport have a significant influence. Furthermore, knowledge about sustainability and age are also critical factors in influencing energy conservation behavior. The study recommends using different mediums to enhance households' knowledge about energy conservation and environmental sustainability, and aligning urban planning with location choices and the use of public transport.

Summary: The research proposes a new method for identifying stereotypes about immigrants in texts, focusing on frames rather than personal attributes, and achieves high accuracy in detecting these stereotypes through experiments. The method categorizes stereotypes into positive and negative dimensions, aggregating them into victims and threat supercategories.

Summary: This study demonstrates how societal gender norms are transmitted across generations through peers, impacting gender gaps in learning. The research finds that when children are assigned to peer groups where parents believe boys are better at math, it increases the likelihood of the child holding that belief, with greater effects from same-gender peers. Additionally, this influences the child's math ability, leading to score gains for boys and losses for girls.

Summary: Similar to other sexual minorities, asexual individuals often face prejudice and stereotyping. However, the source of these attitudes and beliefs is not well understood. A study found that asexual stereotypes, such as immaturity and non-sociality, are associated with the assumption that sexual attraction is an inevitable part of human development. Adherence to this assumption also led to a reduced inclination to befriend asexual individuals.

Summary: This study presents experimental results conducted in collaboration with the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, focusing on how policymakers, policy practitioners, and researchers update their beliefs based on academic study results. The findings show that policymakers initially have more positive beliefs about development programs and are more certain about them compared to policy practitioners and researchers, despite having less familiarity with the programs. When participants are presented with impact evaluation results, they are more influenced by good news and pay less attention to confidence intervals. The study also finds no significant differences in biases between groups, which cannot fully explain the differences in beliefs.

Summary: Beliefs about COVID-19, particularly regarding estimated symptom severity if infected, predict the experience of COVID-like symptoms several weeks later. The belief in the body's ability to fight diseases contributes to mediating the effect of estimated symptom severity on later experienced symptoms.

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers have investigated the influence of Americans' attitudes towards health experts on their health behaviors and policy opinions. However, the potential disparity between individual and expert opinions on COVID-19 and its impact on health attitudes and behaviors has received less attention. The study highlights the importance of addressing this gap, as discrepancies between individual and expert opinions might explain why some Americans do not take necessary actions to protect themselves and others from the virus. The researchers conducted surveys on a representative sample of the US adult population and primary care physicians, revealing differences in preferences for responsibility in combating COVID-19 between Americans and healthcare professionals. The findings suggest that efforts to align public opinion with expert opinion could have significant public health benefits.

Summary: People are more likely to endorse markets and lines when these systems increase the likelihood that scarce goods and services go to those who have the strongest preferences. Markets and lines are more appropriate when preferences are dissimilar, but less suitable when preferences are similar.

Summary: The study aimed to explore the knowledge and beliefs declared by faculty members about inclusive education. Findings revealed a wide range of understanding levels among faculty members, with some having little knowledge of the concept. Beliefs observed in the investigation included a persistent influence of the student-centred deficit model. Recommendations were provided for adapting continuous training to different fields of knowledge and engaging in a shared debate about the meaning and implication of inclusive education in higher education.

Summary: The study found that Chinese preservice physical education teachers generally held positive beliefs about the physical education profession. However, beliefs about the sense of calling and value of the PE profession varied significantly by year in college, with senior students showing the lowest score in value and sophomores showing the lowest score in sense of calling. The study concluded that PE teacher education programs had limited impact on changing Chinese preservice physical education teachers' beliefs about the PE profession.

Summary: US rheumatologists generally have a good understanding and acceptance of biosimilar products, especially when initiating treatment in biologic-naive individuals. However, they are hesitant to switch patients who are responding well to reference products to biosimilars. Additional education on biosimilars is needed to better inform treatment decisions by rheumatologists.

Summary: The study shows that auxin dynamics play a critical role in facilitating plant root penetration into hard soil barriers. By mapping the genetic locus associated with primary root penetrability, new insights into the regulatory role of auxin signaling in root penetrability and related natural genetic variation for this important trait are gained.

Summary: The study found that societal perceptions of the cattle industry's environmental performance strongly predict trust in the industry, however, trust has only a weak indirect relationship on the perceived need for environmental regulation. Environmental values influence perceptions of industry performance and the perceived right for societal oversight.
