Summary: This study aimed to identify the predictors of postpartum depression for different feeding methods (breastfeeding, mixed-feeding, formula-feeding). The results showed that women in different feeding groups differed in stress, bonding difficulties, and beliefs related to feeding practices. The best predictors of depressive symptoms for breastfeeding women included maternal satisfaction, intrapsychic stress, and concerns about feeding on a schedule; for mixed-feeding women - emotional tension, concern about infant's hunger, overeating, and awareness of infant's hunger and satiety cues; and for formula-feeding women, predictors included emotional tension, bonding difficulties, and maternal feeding practices and beliefs related to concerns about undereating, awareness of infant's hunger and satiety cues, concerns about feeding on a schedule, and social interaction with the infant during feeding.

Summary: This study examined the likelihood of alcohol consumption among breast-feeding mothers based on several socio-demographic factors. The results showed that factors such as mothers' age, partners' alcohol consumption, educational attainment, household income, and alcohol consumption during pregnancy influenced the likelihood of mothers continuing to drink alcohol. The study suggests that social circumstances play a role in mothers' alcohol use while breast-feeding.

Summary: This study aimed to understand young Australian mothers' experiences of infant feeding and explore factors that facilitated or hindered adherence to recommended breastfeeding practices. Research findings suggest that breastfeeding is challenging, mothers experience judgment for their feeding choices, and they require support from family, peers, and professionals to continue breastfeeding.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the assessment of infant feeding by self-report and the Automatic Ingestion Monitor-2 (AIM-2). The results showed that there was a difference between maternal self-report and AIM-2 data, with mothers tending to overestimate breastfeeding frequency and duration. The AIM-2 was proven to be a feasible tool for assessing infant feeding among mothers in Ghana.

Summary: The lack of family support, especially from grandmothers, is the main barrier to breastfeeding in Panama. Private lactation consultation and partners' support are perceived as the best approaches for breastfeeding success. This study highlights the importance of understanding the complexity of social norms surrounding infant feeding and the need for interventions to improve breastfeeding initiation and continuation.

Summary: The study evaluated neonatal lithium serum concentrations based on three different feeding trajectories - breastfeeding, formula feeding, and mixed feeding. The results showed that the time needed to reach the limit of quantification was longest for exclusive breastfeeding, but no accumulation of lithium was observed during breastfeeding. Overall, breastfeeding was found to be safe and did not lead to adverse effects on development or growth.

Summary: This study aimed to examine changes in maternal feeding behaviors and maternal feeding stress among mothers of preschoolers in Saudi Arabia before and during the novel coronavirus pandemic. The results showed that during the pandemic period, mothers reported an increase in perceived responsibility and monitoring, a decrease in the use of food as a reward and concern about child's diet, and an increase in maternal resentment/difficult child.

Summary: The study found that Chinese American mothers have high rates of suboptimal breastfeeding practices, including early introduction of other foods and concerns about infants not receiving enough nutrition from exclusive mother's milk. Mothers with more than one child are more inclined to continue exclusive breastfeeding.

Summary: High levels of intracellular calcium and overexpression of calcium channels are associated with hormone resistance in breast cancer cells, and treatment with calcium channel blockers can reverse this resistance. Additionally, combination therapy of a calcium channel blocker with an antiestrogen can overcome resistance to the antiestrogen in hormone-resistant cells.

Summary: Only about 39% of infants in low- and middle-income countries are exclusively breast-fed for the first six months. Exclusive breastfeeding practices among HIV positive mothers in Ethiopia are sub-optimal. Factors influencing exclusive breastfeeding practices among HIV positive breast-feeding mothers include receiving advice on exclusive breastfeeding, disclosure of HIV status to someone close to them, and belief in the transmission of HIV during delivery.

Summary: This study assessed the prevalence of early initiation of breastfeeding (EIBF) and associated factors among mothers with children under 2 years old in Ethiopia. The study found that place of delivery, mode of delivery, postnatal check-up, type of birth, birth order and region were significantly associated with EIBF.

Summary: Sustainable animal production relies on efficient and sustainable means of providing phosphorus, which is essential for animal growth and well-being. Precise assessment of phosphorus and calcium requirements, modeling, efficient use of phytase, and precision feeding can help mitigate environmental effects and ensure an efficient phosphorus cycle in the plant-animal-soil system.
