We focus on exclusive production of neutral technipion (pi) over tilde (0) in pp collisions at the LHC, i.e. on pp -> pp (pi) over tilde (0) reaction. The dependence of the cross section on parameters of recently proposed vector-like Technicolor model is studied. Characteristic features of the differential distributions are discussed. For not too large technipion masses the diphoton decay channel has the dominant branching fraction. This is also the main reason for an enhanced production of neutral technipions in gamma gamma-fusion reaction. We discuss potential backgrounds of the QCD and QED origin to the pp -> pp ((pi) over tilde (0) -> gamma gamma) process at large invariant gamma gamma masses. We conclude that compared to inclusive case the signal-to-background ratio in the considered exclusive reaction is very favorable which thereby could serve as a good probe for Technicolor dynamics searches at the LHC. Summary: High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles beyond the acceptance of existing experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF) will host experiments to probe standard model processes and search for physics beyond the standard model (BSM). FPF experiments will explore BSM physics through searches for new particle scattering or decay signatures and deviations from SM expectations in a low-background environment.

Exclusive production of ρ meson in gamma-proton collisions: dσ /dt and the role of helicity flip processes

Anna Cisek, Wolfgang Schafer, Antoni Szczurek

Summary: We calculate the differential cross section for diffractive photoproduction process gamma p -> rho p and compare it with recent data from ultraperipheral proton-lead collisions. Our model considers two-gluon exchange in the nonperturbative domain, including often neglected helicity-flip amplitudes. The shape of the differential cross section and the role of helicity flip processes are influenced by the unintegrated gluon distribution in the nonperturbative region.

Gauge Couplings Evolution from the Standard Model, through Pati-Salam Theory, into E8 Unification of Families and Forces

Alfredo Aranda, Francisco J. de Anda, Antonio P. Morais, Roman Pasechnik

Summary: In this study, we explore the potential of unifying the matter and gauge sectors of the Standard Model into a single E-8 superfield in ten dimensions using an intermediate Pati-Salam gauge theory. By utilizing a consistent realization of a T-6/(Z(6 )x Z(2) x Z(2)) orbifolding procedure and the renormalization group evolution of gauge couplings, we establish several novel benchmark scenarios for New Physics that hold promise for further phenomenological exploration.

Fractal Derivatives, Fractional Derivatives and q-Deformed Calculus

Airton Deppman, Eugenio Megias, Roman Pasechnik

Summary: This work analyzes fractional derivatives and fractal derivatives, discussing their differences and similarities. The fractal derivative is closely related to Haussdorff's concepts of fractional dimension geometry. The paper distinguishes between the derivative of a function on a fractal domain and the derivative of a fractal function, where the image is a fractal space. Different continuous approximations for the fractal derivative are discussed, and it is shown that the q-calculus derivative is a continuous approximation of the fractal derivative of a fractal function. A similar version can be obtained for the derivative of a function on a fractal space. Caputo's derivative is also proportional to a continuous approximation of the fractal derivative, and the corresponding approximation of the derivative of a fractional function leads to a Caputo-like derivative. This work has implications for studies of fractional differential equations, anomalous diffusion, information and epidemic spread in fractal systems, and fractal geometry.

Exclusive diffractive bremsstrahlung of one and two photons at forward rapidities: Possibilities for experimental studies in pp collisions at the LHC

Piotr Lebiedowicz, Otto Nachtmann, Antoni Szczurek

Summary: We evaluate the cross section for diffractive bremsstrahlung of a single photon in the pp & RARR; pp & gamma; reaction at high energies and at forward photon rapidities. The results for our standard approach, based on QFT and the tensor-pomeron model, are compared with two versions of soft-photon-approximations, SPA1 and SPA2. We discuss azimuthal correlations between outgoing particles and the possibility of measuring two-photon-bremsstrahlung in the pp & RARR; pp & gamma; & gamma; reaction.

Collider phenomenology of new neutral scalars in a flavored multi-Higgs model

P. M. Ferreira, Joao Goncalves, Antonio P. Morais, Antonio Onofre, Roman Pasechnik, Vasileios Vatellis

Summary: In this paper, we propose a new collider signature of heavy neutral scalars commonly found in multi-Higgs models. This signature is based on a topology with two charged leptons and four jets from first and second generation quarks, which is relevant in the context of LHC measurements. We focus on a Branco-Grimus-Lavoura (BGL) type model with an Abelian U(1) flavor symmetry and additional right-handed neutrinos, discussing how the kinematics of scalar fields in this model can efficiently distinguish the signal from dominant backgrounds and explore the discovery potential at the LHC.

Central exclusive diffractive production of a single photon in high-energy proton-proton collisions within the tensor-Pomeron approach

Piotr Lebiedowicz, Otto Nachtmann, Antoni Szczurek

Summary: In this study, we discuss the central-exclusive production (CEP) of photons in proton-proton collisions at high energies using the tensor-Pomeron model. We consider different fusion processes, including photon-Pomeron and photon-Reggeon fusion reactions, as well as Reggeon-Pomeron and Odderon-Pomeron fusion reactions. Our predictions show that photoproduction is an important process for midrapidity photons with low transverse momentum. This has implications for the ALICE detector at the LHC. The measurement of outgoing protons is not necessary to validate our results.

Summary: We discuss the production of charm and anticharm quarks, D mesons and antimesons, and neutrinos and antineutrinos in proton-proton collisions at the LHC energies. Different partonic mechanisms are considered, including gluon-gluon fusion, intrinsic charm, and recombination. We compare our calculations to LHCb data and find a good description with certain parton distribution functions. Measurements at high energies and future experiments are also discussed.

Soft-photon radiation in high-energy proton-proton collisions within the tensor-Pomeron approach: Bremsstrahlung

Piotr Lebiedowicz, Otto Nachtmann, Antoni Szczurek

Summary: We discuss diffractive processes in proton-proton collisions, both with and without photon radiation, and compare our results with experimental data. The inclusion of secondary reggeons is necessary to accurately describe the low-energy data. We also investigate the photon bremsstrahlung in high-energy proton-proton collisions using the tensor-Pomeron model. These findings are significant for the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the LHC.

Electromagnetic interaction of low transverse momentum charged leptons with heavy nuclei in ultra-peripheral ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions

Katarzyna Mazurek, Mariola Klusek-Gawenda, Antoni Szczurek

Summary: The photon-photon interaction in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collision leads to the creation of charged lepton pairs, which are created in a broad configuration space and undergo strong electromagnetic interactions near heavy nuclei. The evolution of the distributions of electrons/positrons and charged muons due to their electromagnetic interaction with nuclei is studied, showing distortions in rapidity and transverse momentum distributions. Significant effects are observed for e(+)/e(-), while mu(+)/mu(-) effects are smaller. Possible sizable accumulation of leptons with rapidities close to the beam rapidity is predicted.

Structure and production mechanism of the enigmatic X (3872) in high-energy hadronic reactions

Summary: In this study, we investigate different scenarios for the production of the enigmatic chi(c1) (3872) particle and calculate its total cross section and momentum distribution. The results show that reasonable cross sections can be obtained in either the c (c) over bar state or the molecular D-0*D-0+D-0(D) over bar (0)* scenario, provided that both directly produced D-0, (D) over bar (0) and D-0, (D) over bar (0) from the decay of D* are taken into account.

Production of forward heavy-flavor dijets at the LHCb within the kT-factorization approach

Rafal Maciula, Roman Pasechnik, Antoni Szczurek

Summary: In this paper, we calculate the differential cross sections for cc over bar - and bb over bar-dijet production in pp scattering at root s = 13 TeV using the kT-factorization and hybrid approaches with different unintegrated parton distribution functions (uPDFs). Our results are compared to recent LHCb data on forward production of heavy-flavor dijets. The agreement between the predictions and the data within the full kT factorization is strongly related to the modeling of the large -x behavior of the gluon uPDFs.

Non-equilibrium dynamics of dipole-charged fields in the Proca theory

Bogdan Damski

Summary: In this paper, we discuss the dynamics of field configurations in the Proca theory of the real massive vector field, specifically focusing on a certain class of electric (magnetic) dipole-charged states. We construct these states to ensure that the long-distance structure of the mean electromagnetic field is initially set by the formula describing the electromagnetic field of the electric (magnetic) dipole. We analyze the evolution of this mean electromagnetic field over time and observe the phenomena of harmonic oscillations of the electric (magnetic) dipole moment far from the center of the initial field configuration, as well as the emergence of a spherical shock wave propagating at the speed of light near the center. Additionally, we discover a unique axisymmetric mean electric field configuration accompanying the mean magnetic field in magnetic dipole-charged states.

Slow complexification

Brett McInnes

Summary: The time-dependence of AdS black hole interior geometries poses challenges to holographic duality and the traversability of wormholes. Quantum circuit complexity of strongly coupled matter can address the first challenge. Data from a phenomenological model show an upper bound on the complexity growth rate, which becomes stricter with the addition of angular momentum. The slowing of black hole interior dynamics at high specific angular momentum also occurs.

(2,0) theory on S5 x S1 and quantum M2 branes

M. Beccaria, S. Giombi, A. A. Tseytlin

Summary: This article investigates the superconformal index Z of the 6d (2,0) theory on S5 x S1 and describes it using the quantum M2 brane theory in the large N limit. By studying M2 branes in a twisted product of thermal AdS7 and S4, the leading non-perturbative term at large N is shown to be reproduced by the 1-loop partition function of an instanton M2 brane wrapped on S1 x S2 with S2 c S4. Similarly, the partition function of a defect M2 brane wrapped on thermal AdS3 c AdS7 reproduces the BPS Wilson loop expectation value in the (2,0) theory. The article also comments on the analogy of these results with similar computations in the quantum M2 brane partition function in AdS4 x S7/DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Zk, which reproduced the corresponding localization expressions in the ABJM 3d gauge theory.
