The K- pp system is investigated using a variational approach with realistic two-body interactions: the Argonne v18 NN potential and an energy dependent (K) over barN effective interaction derived from chiral SU(3) coupled-channel dynamics. Uncertainties in subthreshold extrapolations of the (K) over barN interaction are considered. A weakly bound K- pp state is found, with a binding energy B = (19 +/- 3) MeV substantially smaller than suggested in previous calculations. The decay width Gamma(K(-)pp -> pi Sigma N) is estimated to range between about 40 and 70 MeV. (c) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Femtoscopic Study of N Ξ Interaction and Search for the H Dibaryon State Around the N Ξ Threshold

Akira Ohnishi, Y. Kamiya, K. Sasaki, T. Fukui, T. Hatsuda, T. Hyodo, K. Morita, K. Ogata

Summary: The study utilized the baryon-baryon potentials obtained from lattice QCD calculations to analyze the momentum correlation functions of p Xi(-) and Lambda Lambda pairs in high-energy nuclear collisions. The results accurately represented the correlation function data from pp and pPb collisions, confirming the validity of the S = -2 baryon-baryon potentials and providing support for the existence of the H dibaryon as a virtual state near the N Xi threshold.

Hadron-hadron potentials coupled to quark degrees of freedom for exotic hadrons

Ibuki Terashima, Tetsuo Hyodo

Summary: This article studies the properties of hadron-hadron and quark-antiquark potentials from the perspective of channel coupling. The results show that, for finite quark masses, the coupling to the two-hadron continuum leads to the imaginary part of the quark-antiquark potential. Furthermore, eliminating different degrees of freedom induces nonlocality and energy dependence in the effective potentials.

QCD and the strange baryon spectrum

Tetsuo Hyodo, Masayuki Niiyama

Summary: The unique role of the strange quark in QCD and the remarkable progress in the spectroscopy of baryons with strangeness have been highlighted. Accurate determination of the basic properties of strange baryons is achieved through experimental data and theoretical developments, leading to additions in the particle listings. Intensive discussions on the exotic internal structure of strange baryons have been stimulated by the developments in spectroscopy.

Quantum entanglement in top quark pair production

Mira Varma, Oliver K. Baker

Summary: In this letter, the authors expand upon the previous work to demonstrate the entanglement observed in top quark interactions. They propose that the thermal component caused by proton collisions with top quarks emerges from entanglement within the proton wave function, and they use published results to show the expected behavior.

Probing the hidden-bottom pentaquark resonances in photonuclear bottomonium production near threshold: Differential observables

E. Ya. Paryev

Summary: In this study, we investigate the near-threshold meson photoproduction from protons and nuclei and explore the possibility of observing non-strange hidden-bottom pentaquark states through differential observables. We calculate the excitation functions and energy/momentum distributions for different production processes and propose that future experiments at high-luminosity electron-ion colliders could provide evidence for the existence of these hidden-bottom pentaquark resonances.

Electromagnetic properties of A hypernuclei with a beyond relativistic mean-field approach

Y. G. Yao, X. Y. Wu, H. Mei

Summary: This study presents a microscopic investigation of the electromagnetic properties of the low-lying states of single-A hypernucleus 9ABe using the HyperGCM method based on covariant density functional theory. The results are compared to those of a particle-rotor model (PRM) and show close agreement. It is found that the electric quadrupole transition strengths are more sensitive to the coupling strengths of the AN interaction than the magnetic moments and M 1 transition strengths.
