Summary: In this study, the safety and pharmacokinetic behavior of [C-11]MDTC in healthy human brain were evaluated using positron emission tomography (PET). The study found low expression of the cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2R) in the brain. Test-retest reliability of the receptor-binding outcomes showed a mean absolute variability of 9.91%. The results demonstrate the potential of [C-11]MDTC PET in assessing CB2R expression in the human brain.

Summary: This study retrospectively assessed the evolution of administered radiotracer activity for F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose PET/CT or PET/MR in pediatric patients between 2000 and 2021. The results showed that children have benefited from a significant reduction in the administered F-18-FDG dose over the past 20 years without compromising objective image quality.

Summary: This study demonstrates that human brain synaptic density can be characterized into organized covariance patterns. Additionally, the findings suggest that multiple synaptic density source networks are associated with age, highlighting the potential utility of ICA in identifying biologically relevant synaptic density source networks.

Summary: In patients with pHPT and negative first-line imaging, [11C]choline PET/CT is superior to [11C]methionine PET/CT and 4D-CT in localizing parathyroid adenomas, allowing correct localization in 85% of adenomas. Further studies are needed to determine cost-benefit and efficacy of these scans, including the timing of these scans as first- or second-line imaging techniques.

Summary: Legumain is overexpressed in several cancers and serves as an important biomarker for cancer diagnosis. In this study, a novel radioactive tracer [F-18]SF-AAN was designed and synthesized for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, targeting legumain. The tracer showed specificity in detecting legumain activity in vitro and in vivo, making it a promising tool for the diagnosis of legumain-related diseases.

Summary: F-18-FDG PET/CT is a well-established imaging modality for assessing gastrointestinal stromal tumors and monitoring them post-therapy; recent reports have also shown Ga-68-PSMA and C-11 choline to be effective in detecting these neoplasms, even incidentally.

Summary: The study successfully visualized PDE7 in human brains using PET imaging with C-11-MTP38, demonstrating the potential of this novel ligand for quantitative investigation of central PDE7. The results showed high retentions in specific brain regions and the reversibility of C-11-MTP38 binding, with excellent agreements between different quantification methods, suggesting the practicality of MRTMO and SUVR for clinical use of C-11-MTP38-PET.

Summary: Positron emission tomography (PET) is a powerful imaging tool for early detection of Alzheimer's disease (AD) that has been developed to target beta-amyloid and tau protein aggregates. This study focuses on the development of a new PET ligand targeting protein kinase CK2, which is known to be altered in AD brains.

Summary: This study tested the effectiveness of a PET radiotracer (d3)-[11C]MODAG-001 in pig brains. Results showed increased binding of the radiotracer after injection of alpha-synuclein aggregates and Alzheimer's disease brain homogenate. Despite limited specificity, this radiotracer shows promise for future radiotracer development.

Summary: The research focuses on developing a PET radiotracer for monitoring the expression and occupancy of the non-dopaminergic target A(2A) receptor in Parkinson's disease therapy. Novel fluorinated analogs are designed and evaluated in preclinical studies, showing specific in vitro binding to A(2A)R but no specific in vivo binding in dynamic PET/MRI studies.

Summary: This study developed a new brain-penetrant PET ligand and found that its uptake was positively correlated with the instability of microtubules (MT) and inversely related to CSF A beta(42) levels and age in an AD model. In vitro autoradiography studies further confirmed the reliability of PET imaging results. These findings provide important evidence for a better understanding of the onset and development of AD and related dementias.

Summary: The study suggests that the tissue influx and binding potential of the positron emission tomography radioligand [C-11]UCB-J are influenced by neural activation, while the volume of distribution remains stable. K(1) significantly increased during stimulation in the primary visual cortex, correlating with fMRI BOLD response.

Summary: The study found shared information between dopamine signaling and neural activity, with patterns of striatal dopamine signaling and cortical blood flow containing shared information in healthy volunteers. The results reveal the relevance for understanding diseases where abnormalities of cortical activity and dopamine signaling coexist in neuropsychiatric illnesses.

Summary: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a critical imaging technique for diagnosing multiple sclerosis (MS) and evaluating drug treatment effects. This study compared different MRI measures and evaluated the repeatability of various imaging methods in healthy controls. The results suggest that a practical and efficient imaging protocol combining T2 FLAIR, T1WI, and STAGE (with SWI and QSM) can rapidly image MS patients to find lesions and study their demyelinating and inflammatory characteristics.
