Summary: This study investigated the clinicopathological features and outcomes of IgAN patients with or without arteriolar hyalinosis. The results demonstrated that arteriolar hyalinosis is a common vascular lesion in IgAN patients and is closely associated with hypertension. Arteriolar hyalinosis is an independent risk factor for renal prognosis in patients with IgAN.

Summary: Arteriolar lesions with lipid and/or amyloid deposits are commonly detected in canine gonads. These lesions are histologically classified into fibromuscular hypertrophy, focal vasculitis, vacuolar change, and hyalinosis, with lipid deposition possibly indicating early stage of atherosclerosis. Aging is considered an important risk factor for these lesions in dogs.

Summary: Hypoxia-regulated proximal tubular epithelial cells (PTCs) G2/M phase arrest/delay is involved in the production of renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis (TIF), which is a common pathological manifestation in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and is often accompanied by lipid accumulation in renal tubules. However, the cause-effect relationship between hypoxia-inducible lipid droplet-associated protein (Hilpda), lipid accumulation, G2/M phase arrest/delay, and TIF remains unclear.

Summary: Gout is common in patients with CKD, and those with kidney dysfunction may have hyperechoic medullas, potentially linked to increased risk of hypertension and kidney dysfunction. More research is needed to validate these findings.

Summary: TRPC6 channels are implicated in the development of kidney diseases, but their role in inflammation and fibrosis during aging is uncertain. Experimental findings suggest that the role of TRPC6 in the aging process does not have a significant protective effect on renal pathologies in rats.

Summary: BMP-7 improves diabetic nephropathy by inhibiting MAPK pathway phosphorylation and upregulating Id2 protein expression. Oxymatrine ameliorates early epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in diabetic kidney disease by regulating the BMP-7-MAPK pathway.

Summary: We developed a highly efficient biosensor for uric acid detection by immobilizing modified urate oxidase on gold nanoparticles deposited on a carbon-glass electrode. This biosensor exhibits a low limit of detection (9.16 nM), a high sensitivity (14 mu A/mu M), a wide linear range (50 nM-1 mM), and a long lifetime of over 28 days.

Summary: Canonical transient receptor potential-6 (TRPC6) channels play a role in various glomerular diseases, but their involvement in the proteinuric state is still unclear. In this study, TRPC6 knockout was found to attenuate albumin overload-induced proteinuria in rats, although its protective effect on tubulointerstitial compartments depends on the disease model.
