Summary: Mobile apps are the main access point for consumers to health and wellness software, with Apple App Store and Google Play Store dominating the delivery. Due to new EU regulations, Apple and Google now have to ensure app compliance with medical devices regulations and report serious incidents resulting from app usage. However, the implementation of these new rules is uneven and unclear in some areas.

Summary: Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are individual tokens containing valuable information stored on the blockchain, which can be bought and sold based on market demand. NFTs' unique data allows for easy verification and authentication of ownership and token transfer. This paper presents an NFT approach and business policies specific to the IT domain, discussing how NFT tokens can store software applications and provide rewards for developers.

Summary: A smart gear sensor system has been developed to monitor the condition of gears. This system analyzes the return loss of a monitoring antenna magnetically connected to the smart gear to determine the gear's health condition. The study explores how distance and phase fluctuations between the components affect the magnetic resonant return loss. Experimental rigs were used to test these factors under static and high-speed conditions. The findings highlight the importance of considering coupling distance and phase angle changes in accurately monitoring gear health.

Summary: Police officers are at high risk of obesity and cardiometabolic health conditions due to their shift work. This study aimed to understand the impact of different shift types on the dietary habits of UK police officers. The results showed that the diet quality was worse on all shifts compared to rest days and was negatively correlated with BMI. Barriers to healthy eating included lack of time, motivation, and cost. Police-specific dietary interventions are needed to address these barriers and promote behavior change.

Summary: In this study, an apple leaf disease detection method based on an improved YOLOv5s model was proposed to address the issue of accurately locating and identifying multi-scale and differently shaped apple leaf diseases in natural scenes. The proposed method utilized the BiFPN, transformer, and CBAM attention mechanisms to enhance the model's ability to express disease characteristics and reduce interference from background information, thus improving accuracy and recall. Experimental results showed that the BTC-YOLOv5s model achieved a mean average precision of 84.3% and demonstrated higher detection accuracy and faster detection speed compared to other classic detection models. The proposed model also exhibited strong robustness under various noise conditions. The findings suggest that the BTC-YOLOv5s model is lightweight, accurate, and efficient, making it suitable for mobile device application, and it can provide technical support for early intervention and treatment of apple leaf diseases.

Summary: This paper proposes the use of an automated mechanical transmission (AMT) as a soft starter for medium-scale belt conveyors. The AMT is used to start the conveyor and control its acceleration using a segmented belt acceleration curve. Simulation results show that this method is effective and provide a theoretical basis for using AMTs as soft starters.

Summary: In this study, a bond graph-based method is proposed to model and analyze the dynamic behavior of a variable transmission system. By dividing the transmission system into multiple component-level real-time dynamic models and considering the coupling of energy flow paths, a nonlinear multi-energy domain shift dynamic models are obtained. The simulation results show that there is a delay in the speed response during the shifting process, which is related to the mechanical structure and passive working principle of the clutch. Additionally, the impact of different hydraulic loading durations on component speed and torque is analyzed.

Summary: This paper proposes a new method based on Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) network to control gear shifting in mine trucks, updating the traditional manual transmission system to automatic. Experimental results demonstrate that machine learning networks with nine parameters achieve higher gear shifting prediction accuracy, and the Bi-LSTM network shows advantages in processing sequential data within a short time.

Summary: This study analyzes the impact of different profile shifts on the time-varying meshing stiffness (TVMS) and dynamic characteristics of gear systems. Positive individual shifts decrease gear tooth stiffness and TVMS, leading to stronger vibrations, while negative shifts increase tooth stiffness and TVMS, reducing vibration. Compound shifts in S-gearing have a slight impact on TVMS but significantly affect the dynamic characteristics.
