Summary: A novel double-resonant plasmonic substrate for fluorescence amplification in a chip-based apta-immunoassay was reported. The substrate relies on the plasmon-enhanced fluorescence (PEF) effect to amplify the fluorescence signal. It can potentially be used for multiplexing applications. In a malaria apta-immunoassay, the substrate successfully detected Plasmodium falciparum lactate dehydrogenase (PfLDH) in human whole blood with high sensitivity and without complex pretreatments.

Summary: A highly sensitive and selective electrochemical immunosensor was established for the rapid screening of Rhodamine B in paprika and capsicol. Preparation of Rh B complete antigen, obtaining anti-Rh B monoclonal antibody, electrodeposition of cobalt hydroxide and gold nanoparticles, and optimization of the assembled immunosensor contributed to the successful development of the sensor. The assay showed a linear range for Rh B detection, high sensitivity, and good recovery rate, indicating its potential for practical applications.

Summary: In this study, a new mechanism for enhancing chemiluminescence (CL) was developed through the coembedding of N-(aminobutyl)-N-(ethylisoluminol) (ABEI) and Co2+ into gold nanoparticle-modified covalent-organic frameworks (COFs). The confinement of ABEI and Co2+ into Au-COF brought over 20-fold enhancement of CL intensity. This work proposes a novel enhancement mechanism for CL based on crystalline porous materials, which provides a new perspective for the development of CL-functionalized materials for biosensors and bioassays.

Summary: A novel and rapid electro-chemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensor was successfully fabricated for ultrasensitive detection of 3-NT. The sensor utilized gold nanoparticles as the luminophore and electropolymerized polyaniline to promote the luminescence of the nanoparticles. It exhibited good analytical performance for 3-NT detection with a wide linear detection range and low detection limit, and had high recovery rate in practical sample applications.

Summary: An electrochemical immunosensor was developed for the detection of Salmonella using a Fe3O4@graphene nanocomposite modified electrode. The Fe3O4@graphene nanocomposite exhibited excellent electrical signal due to the properties of graphene and Fe3O4, which greatly enhanced the sensitivity of the immunosensor. Gold nanoparticles were further deposited on the nanocomposite for antibody immobilization. The immunosensor showed a good linear relationship in the concentration range of Salmonella and a low limit of detection. It also demonstrated acceptable selectivity, reproducibility, and stability, offering a new approach for pathogenic bacteria detection in milk.

Summary: A portable immunosensor based on ALP-labeled and secondary antibody-modified AuNPs is proposed for sensitive detection of CBD. The enzymatic reactions and signal amplification strategy involving AuNPs enable a low detection limit of 0.37 ng/mL. Good-consistency results are obtained when using this portable method to analyze citrus fruit, canned citrus, and cabbage, demonstrating its potential for CBD monitoring in resource-poor settings.
