During a mycological expedition to the 'Reserva Ecologica de Saltinho', Municipality of Tamandare, Pernambuco State, Brazil, the ascomycete Leptomeliola uvariae was found on leaves of the fern Lygodium volubile, parasitizing the mycelium of a meliolaceous fungus. This is the first report of Leptomeliola uvariae from South America.
