The genus Perisporiopsis (Ascomycota, Dothideomycetes, Parodiopsidoceae) occurs on the underside of decaying leaves, mostly in tropical regions. A new species of Perisporiopsis, P latent in, is described that can be distinguished from other species in the genus by a combination of teleomorph and anamorph characteristics, such its ascospore size, size and shape of microconidia and macroconidia of the Septoidium anamorph, and the plant host (Hevea). This species is known only from the Peruvian Amazon.
