Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness and acceptance of an age-adapted structured skills training group (SSTG) for adolescents with ADHD. The results showed no significant differences between the SSTG group and the control group in terms of study outcomes. However, a majority of participants in both groups reported increased knowledge about ADHD, improved ability to manage related problems, and willingness to recommend the treatment to others.

Summary: Most people with nonspecific chronic spinal pain also suffer from comorbid insomnia. However, insomnia is often overlooked in current treatment strategies for chronic spinal pain. Insomnia may increase the risk of adverse physical and psychological health outcomes, highlighting the importance of addressing this issue. Combining cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia with evidence-based biopsychosocial physical therapy may improve pain outcomes in patients with chronic spinal pain.

Summary: The study found that mindfulness interventions were superior to usual cares in fibromyalgia and showed some efficacy in low back pain. Further research is needed to compare the efficacy of mindfulness interventions with cognitive-behavioral therapy for headache and non-specific chronic pain.

Summary: This study aimed to identify which adolescents with ADHD might benefit from a structured skills training group based on dialectical behavioral therapy. The results showed that the SSTG seems to be beneficial for adolescents with ADHD who perceive pronounced symptoms of hyperactivity/impulsivity, conduct problems, and emotional dysregulation. These findings need to be confirmed in future trials.

Summary: Limb amputation has a significant impact on individuals, both physically and emotionally, and can result in functional disability, impaired emotional functioning, and changes in overall quality of life. This case report presents a 63-year-old male lower limb amputee with chronic pain who experienced pain reduction and improved quality of life following cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for chronic pain. Treatment consisted of 12 sessions with fidelity measured throughout to ensure accurate use of the treatment manual. Self-report measures were used to track patient progress and showed improvement in pain ratings and pain catastrophizing.

Summary: This study investigates the effectiveness of a guided, individually tailored, and internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (ICBT) for improving mood and reducing disability in individuals suffering from chronic pain and comorbid psychological distress. The results show that the ICBT group had significantly larger improvements in depression, disability, pain acceptance, catastrophizing, and quality of life compared to the control group. These improvements were stable at the 12-month follow-up.

Summary: This study investigated predictor variables for participants' adherence to internet-based CBT treatment for chronic pain and found that higher treatment credibility, current depressive symptoms, and falling behind the treatment schedule were important predictors for low treatment adherence. Pain acceptance was the only predictor for completing more treatment modules among pain-related variables. Additionally, treatment credibility and depressive symptoms at baseline predicted treatment completion. Findings may help clinicians identify patients less likely to complete pain treatment.

Summary: This review provides an overview of the efficacy of guided internet-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (iCBT) for chronic pain, covering psychological, physical, and daily life impact outcomes, as well as factors influencing optimal delivery. The results show that iCBT is more effective than passive and active control conditions, with high treatment satisfaction and minimal adverse events. Dropout is associated with factors such as time, health, technical issues, and lack of computer skills.

Summary: This study found a high prevalence of CAI in the surveyed basketball population, with gender affecting the prevalence. However, competitive level and playing position did not show a significant difference in CAI prevalence.
