Summary: This study investigates the oxidation behavior of stoichiometric and hyper-stoichiometric silicon carbide (SiC) with silicon impurity. Silica growth on both SiCs was parabolic in air at 1200°C and 1600°C, but was faster on hyper-stoichiometric SiC. However, in steam, the oxidation kinetics were reversed due to the generation of gaseous products and pore networks in silica on stoichiometric SiC, resulting in a reaction-controlled linear oxidation behavior.

Summary: In this study, bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaics (OPV) were fabricated using different hybrid composites doped with a novel combination of PBDB-T:PCBM/hybrid-nanostructures. The structure and morphology of the W2C@rGO and Mo2C@rGO composites were established through a simple chemical reduction process. The incorporation of Mo2C@rGO and W2C@rGO hybrid into the active layers resulted in significantly improved power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 6.98% and 6.84%, respectively, compared to pure PBDB-T:PCBM and other materials. These findings suggest that the hybrid incorporated active layers facilitate efficient charge transport and extraction, leading to high-efficiency photovoltaic devices.

Summary: This paper deals with the synthesis and characterization of a novel nano polymer, n-ZnO-AVA, using three mono-mers. The inhibitive performance of n-ZnO-AVA on J55 steel in a corrosive solution was evaluated, and the adsorption behavior was found to be both physical and chemical. The results suggest that n-ZnO-AVA has a strong corrosion inhibitive effect on J55 steel.

Summary: The microstructure and intergranular corrosion were studied in an extruded and aged Al-Mg-Si alloy doped with 0.05 wt% Cu after immersion in an acidified salt solution. Despite the low content of Cu, intergranular corrosion still occurs in this alloy. Electron microscopy analysis of the exposed surface in the corrosive environment does not show any significant difference in the fraction of corroded random and coincident site lattice high angle boundaries. Low angle boundaries with misorientations below 10 degrees are consistently found to be more resistant to intergranular corrosion than other boundary types.

Summary: This paper conducted a literature review on four microscopic methods commonly used in dental research, which are confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). These microscopic techniques differ in their principles and require specific protocols for specimen preparation, but all play a significant role in describing and evaluating the adhesive bonding process and enamel surface condition.

Summary: In this study, samarium substituted bismuth ferrite ceramics were prepared by sol-gel synthesis method and studied using various microscopic techniques to investigate the evolution of crystal structure across the morphotropic phase boundary region. The compounds exhibited structural transitions from polar active rhombohedral phase to anti-polar orthorhombic phase and then to non-polar orthorhombic phase within a specific concentration range. The results revealed a coexistence of different structural phases in the compounds, with a notable difference in the concentration range ascribed to the morphotropic phase boundary estimated by microscopic measurements.

Summary: In this study, ZnGa2O4 nanocomposites were synthesized via a hydrothermal method and used for the photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes under UV irradiation. The structure, morphology, size, and optical properties of ZnGa2O4 were characterized using various techniques, and the degradation process followed second-order kinetics. The results demonstrated high efficiency in degrading industrial dyes, suggesting potential for more efficient ZnGa2O4 nanocomposites for photocatalytic applications.
