Summary: This study investigated the impact of DnaJ on IL-1 beta expression in macrophages and found that DnaJ modulates macrophages to secrete IL-1 beta by activating NF-kappa B and MAPK signaling pathways. ERK was identified as a positive mediator for IL-1 beta expression, while p38 acted as a negative mediator. Furthermore, the reciprocal actions of MAPKs were found to regulate the activation of inflammasome-related molecules. The study also explored the involvement of CD91/CD40 in ERK signaling-mediated IL-1 beta production from DnaJ-treated macrophages.

Summary: This study evaluates the protective effects of arginyl-fructosyl-glucose (AFG), a major Maillard reaction product of red ginseng, against cisplatin-induced intestinal toxicity. The results showed that AFG can alleviate cisplatin-induced gastrointestinal damage and inhibit cell apoptosis by regulating the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of Leuconostoc citreum (LSC) cell-free metabolites on adipogenesis, lipogenesis, and lipolysis in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. The results showed that LSC treatment reduced lipid droplet accumulation and the expression of key adipogenic and lipogenic markers while increasing lipolysis. Additionally, LSC treatment elevated adiponectin levels, suggesting its potential as a novel probiotic strain for treating obesity and metabolic disorders.

Summary: Leuconostoc strains have great biotechnological potential due to their genomic features. In this study, the genomic diversity of four Leuconostoc strains was analyzed, revealing the sharing and differences of genes among the strains. The study also provided insights into the distribution of carbohydrate-active enzyme genes and genes with unknown functions, as well as the oligosaccharide utilization and folate biosynthesis pathways in Leuconostoc strains.

Summary: This review discusses the use of natural alkaloids in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Anti-osteoporosis alkaloids can promote mesenchymal stem cells differentiation, improve osteoblast proliferation, suppress osteoclast formation, and regulate multiple signaling pathways. These findings provide evidence and support for the development of novel drugs and clinical treatment of osteoporosis using natural alkaloids.

Summary: This study reveals the silent spread of New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase (NDM) carbapenemase in Brazil, particularly in Enterobacterales other than Klebsiella spp. It highlights the diverse species and coexistence of important resistance genes in these NDM-producing strains. Prompt detection and effective measures are crucial to mitigate the further dissemination of NDM carbapenemase and preserve antimicrobial therapy options in hospital settings.
