Summary: There is a global drive towards integrated mental healthcare, but there is a lack of clarity on what patient-responsive services should entail and how to adequately measure and improve provider readiness. A proposed four-step framework for integrating responsive mental healthcare in Kenya prioritizes understanding and demonstration of multidimensional skills by providers, with elements of provider sensitization, continuous supervision, professional training, and leadership empowerment.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the association between patient-centered communication (PCC) and primary care quality. The results showed poor communication between primary care providers and patients, and the PCC model has not been achieved. However, interactions with a higher score of PCC were more likely to have a correct diagnosis and treatment, longer consultation time, more unnecessary drugs, and higher medical expenditure.

Summary: Precision medicine relies on new technologies to better characterize patients at a genetic, protein, and metabolic level. Telemedicine has seen a significant increase in usage during the COVID-19 pandemic, with high satisfaction reported by both patients and clinicians. While in-person visits offer physical examination benefits, telemedicine allows for better understanding of the patient's individual circumstances.

Summary: The review suggests that patient-accessible electronic health records (PAEHRs) have the potential to contribute positively to patient-centered care. However, concerns from professionals about the impact of transparency on the patient-clinician relationship, as well as the importance of a patient-centered attitude, need to be addressed. Significant benefits for disadvantaged groups will only be achieved through easily accessible and user-friendly PAEHRs.

Summary: The research team designed and pilot-tested a multimedia software platform to support the long-term management of HIV patients and increase focus on HRQL issues. Results showed that most respondents found the application easy to use and comprehend, but older Australians had lower scores in understanding the visual interface and finding the buttons organized. Concerns about confidentiality were prevalent, especially among participants with higher anxiety and stress scores.

Summary: Patient-centred care is recognized as an important aspect of quality health care, but there is a gap between policy and practice. This study conducted a literature review to understand the development of patient-centred care in acute hospital settings over the past decade. The results showed that patient-centred care research mainly focused on developed countries and covered multiple perspectives, such as patients, nurses, and healthcare organizations. The study also identified factors that facilitate patient-centred care.
