Results are presented for a study of the phase composition and mechanical properties of sheets and plates of alloy V-1461 of the Al - Cu - Li - Zn - Mg system in relation to deformation after hardening and artificial aging regime. It is shown that multistage aging provides more uniform dispersion of strengthening phase precipitates, and straightening after hardening promotes a marked increase in their volume fraction.
