Summary: Existing literature shows an association between PCOS and endometrial cancer, but the current evidence is sparse and inconsistent, lacking clarity on the exact strength of this association. It is also uncertain if confounding factors like age and BMI affect the risk. This meta-analysis quantifies the increased risk of endometrial cancer in females with PCOS compared to those without PCOS and suggests the need for larger, well-controlled studies.

Summary: This updated meta-analysis examined the risk of endometrial, ovarian, and breast cancer in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The results showed that PCOS was significantly associated with endometrial cancer, but not ovarian or breast cancer. However, subgroup analysis suggested that PCOS may increase the risk of ovarian cancer in younger women.

Summary: This study compared the clinical, metabolic, and hormonal characteristics of PCOS women with and without insulin resistance, and investigated the clinico-biochemical profiles of different PCOS phenotypes. The results showed that the full-blown PCOS (O-H-P) phenotype has an increased risk of insulin resistance.

Summary: There is a potential association between polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and epithelial ovarian tumors due to shared risk factors. However, previous studies have shown conflicting results and methodological limitations. A population-based cohort study in Denmark was conducted to investigate this association. While there was no overall association, postmenopausal women with PCOS had an increased risk of ovarian cancer and women with PCOS had an increased risk of serous borderline ovarian tumors compared to those without PCOS. Larger studies with longer follow-up are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: The study found that genetically predicted PCOS is not causally associated with the risk of endometrial cancer in both Europeans and Asians. Subgroup analyses suggest that PCOS may not be linked to the risk of endometrioid endometrial cancer or non-endometrioid endometrial cancer in European ancestry.

Summary: The study aimed to determine a cutoff for the Elecsys AMH Plus immunoassay to aid in PCOM diagnosis. The results showed that a cutoff of 3.2 ng/mL (23 pmol/L) demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity for PCOM diagnosis, with consistent performance across different ages and PCOS phenotypes.

Summary: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder in women, which is associated with infertility, menstrual irregularities, endometrial hyperplasia, and obesity. The disease and its complications are closely related to local oxidative stress imbalance in the endometrium, affecting endometrial receptivity.

Summary: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is strongly associated with ovarian torsion, which is a significant risk in patients with enlarged ovaries. The most common symptom is acute lower abdominal pain, and diagnosis usually involves ultrasound and CT or MRI scans. Emergency laparoscopy with ovarian or adnexal detorsion is the standard treatment, while ovariopexy or ovariectomy/adnexectomy may be considered for recurrent torsions.

Summary: Endometrial cancer is the most common gynaecological cancer in high income countries, with a global rise in incidence. Obesity is the major underlying cause, posing challenges for diagnosis and treatment. Early presentation with postmenopausal bleeding ensures cure, but advanced cases have poor prognosis. Minimally invasive surgical staging and targeted chemotherapeutic strategies are important advances.

Summary: This scoping review examines the gut microbiota in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometrial cancer (EC) and explores the potential link between gut dysbiosis and the increased risk of EC in PCOS. The review found limited published studies on the topic and insufficient evidence to support the hypothesis. While some similarities were found in the composition of the microbiota, further research is needed to understand the underlying mechanisms and its contribution to the pathophysiology of EC in PCOS patients.

Summary: This study investigated the changes in serum hormone levels and Hb-EGF expression in obese women with PCOS during the implantation window following progesterone therapy. The results showed that obese women with PCOS had lower Hb-EGF expression compared to normal-weight PCOS patients.

Summary: CXCL1, a member of the CXC chemokine subfamily, is mainly responsible for attracting neutrophils in the immune system. This review summarizes the clinical significance and involvement of CXCL1 in major reproductive cancers, including breast cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer. It focuses on the clinical aspects, molecular contributions, and impact of CXCL1 on the tumor microenvironment. The significance of introducing CXCL1-targeting drugs and the role of ACKR1/DARC in reproductive cancers are also discussed.

Summary: The objective of this study was to determine the association between polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and endometrial carcinoma in premenopausal females. It was a cohort study conducted at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Unit II, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan, from July 2020 to January 2021. Females aged between 20-45 years with irregular uterine bleeding were included. The study found that PCOS was a risk factor for endometrial carcinoma, with a higher incidence in the exposed group compared to the unexposed group.
