Summary: Social work student placements in general practice settings provide valuable learning opportunities and contribute to holistic healthcare. However, challenges such as student isolation and the need for comprehensive support and supervision should be addressed. Further research is needed to explore the value and sustainability of these placements, as well as funding streams to support them.

Summary: Urban green space plays a significant role in sustainable urban development. Understanding residents' perception of UGS ecological benefits is crucial for improving UGS management and quality of life. This study revealed that residents tend to recognize direct UGS ecological benefits, urban residents have better understanding of UGS benefits, and residents with good self-rated health have higher awareness of UGS benefits.

Summary: This study identifies the service needs among vulnerable rural populations in allied health and the missed opportunities for deliberate collaborative practice in rural clinical placements. The development of a transdisciplinary placement model aims to provide service and education for health profession students, with a focus on community and collaborative practice. Ultimately, the goal is to enhance students' sense of social accountability and reduce stigma in working with vulnerable populations.

Summary: This review study found that positive clinical placement experiences may influence students' intention to practice in rural areas and serve as a reinforcing experience for those already interested in rural practice. Different findings were observed regarding the influence of clinical placement length. Currently, there is only evidence for the short-term effects of clinical placement on students' future practice outcomes in rural areas.

Summary: This case study demonstrates the potential impact of short-term student placements in rural medical practices on improving healthcare and clinical practice in rural communities. By addressing chronic kidney disease management longitudinally, student projects led to improvements in administrative processes, clinical practices, and patient awareness and accountability. The findings highlight the importance of structuring rural clinical placements and defining community projects for medical students.

Summary: This study examines the convergence and divergence between urban and rural forest restoration through a review of scientific evidence and engagement with stakeholders. It emphasizes the importance of tailoring goals and designing institutions based on social and ecological needs. The study also suggests utilizing rivers and watersheds as common ground for restoration and expanding the creative vision associated with tree-containing environments in cities to rural settings.

Summary: Final-year nursing students' perceptions of general practice nursing vary, with some recognizing the diverse and challenging aspects of the role while others perceive it as limited, possibly influenced by others' experiences. Understanding these perceptions can inform the need for greater exposure to general practice nursing and a review of undergraduate curricula to prepare students for careers in this setting.

Summary: Local government partnerships for producing services are common in many countries, but they have rarely been used in India due to its centralized planning and independent urban and rural governance systems. However, India's sanitation program could benefit from intergovernmental partnerships for scaling services quickly and efficiently. This paper critically reviews an experiment in the Dhenkanal district, Odisha, India, which used this approach to provide sanitation services. The findings show that the urban-rural partnership increased access to sanitation services, lowered service charges, and clarified institutional responsibilities. However, issues related to planning, responsibility, accountability, and financing need to be addressed to strengthen the model.

Summary: The study investigates the association between exposure to rural general practice vocational training placements and subsequent rural practice location, finding that GPs who completed their vocational training in rural areas are more likely to practice in rural locations. Having a rural background and exposure to general practice during medical school further strengthens the probability of practicing in rural areas.
