Summary: Evidence suggests that health care providers' non-adherence to clinical guidelines is a common problem in low- and middle-income countries, leading to poor patient outcomes. A study conducted in Kenya found limited adherence to recommended monitoring practices for postpartum hemorrhage, despite providers having training and equipment. The study also revealed that providers' decisions to actively monitor patients are influenced by subjective risk and perceived uncertainty. The findings highlight the need to understand provider decision-making and could inform interventions to promote proactive obstetric care.

Summary: The rapid expansion of human-autonomy teaming should benefit from historical theories of human-human teams, but it should also have a unique identity that recognizes the specific advantages, limitations, and considerations of these teams in society. Framing human-autonomy teams as advanced human-human teams may hinder their global effectiveness and hinder their perception and respect by humans. Recent efforts to differentiate human-autonomy teams have focused more on differentiating from human-autonomy interactions rather than human-human teams. This study presents a novel teaming construct that combines teamwork and human-computer interaction research to establish a standalone but theory-driven identity for human-autonomy teams, which will help differentiate them from human-human teams in future research.

Summary: The level of non-technical skills in teams that manage newborns during resuscitation and transitional support is associated with adherence to guidelines. Excellent non-technical skills increase the chances of high clinical performance in teams. Good leadership and teamwork, coping with stress and fatigue, and communication with parents are the specific non-technical skills correlated with the highest degree of adherence to guidelines.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of situational and stable factors on perceived teamwork quality during the diagnosis of patients by a medical team. The results showed that the clarity and urgency of the patient's case had a positive influence on teamwork quality, while the supervisor's work experience had a negative impact on both supervisor and trainee's teamwork quality.

Summary: Radiologists should consider alternative group models like single department teams, two-person partnerships, and small workgroups to improve efficiency in handling complex projects. Collaborative interdepartmental teams offer diverse viewpoints and innovative solutions but face challenges like interpersonal conflicts and turf concerns. Team performance is influenced by factors such as goal setting, team culture, leadership, and team members' qualities.

Summary: Teamwork among healthcare professionals improves patient outcomes and reduces burnout. Surveys are commonly used to measure teamwork performance, but most surveys have not been validated. More research is needed to develop surveys that better reflect the current state of teamwork, including considering patients as team members.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a refined conceptualization of interdependence to inform the creation of measures that can assess the interdependence of residents within health care teams. Through semi-structured interviews with various members of health care teams, the study identified two types of interdependence: supportive and collaborative. Capturing interdependent performances and characterizing the nature of such interdependence can help assess a team's collective performance without losing sight of the individual.

Summary: Naming sexual harassment is crucial in addressing workplace sexual harassment. This study explores contextual factors in the workplace that influence an individual's propensity to name sexual harassment. It finds that current employment in a high prevalence industry reduces the likelihood of identifying scenarios as sexual harassment. Additionally, prior work experience in sexually harassing industries has a lasting negative effect on an individual's propensity to name. However, if an individual perceives that their organization has implemented HR practices supporting a climate for naming, their propensity to identify sexual harassment increases and can mitigate the negative effect of current employment in a highly sexually harassing industry.
