Summary: A high-precision radius and sphericity measurement method for the microsphere of the CMM probe tip is proposed in this paper. The method involves measuring different circumferences of the microsphere to obtain the true radius of any measuring point on the surface and evaluating the sphericity using the minimum zone sphere method. The proposed method and system have been verified through experiments and can be used for precision measurements and compensations in micro-CMMs and other related applications.

Summary: In this paper, a three-dimensional radius compensation method based on iterative third-dimensional information is proposed for the contact measurement of a coordinate measuring machine. The distance value between the intersection point and the compensation point is used as the convergence condition to approximate the offset contact point.

Summary: The blade tip-timing method has become the industry standard for blade vibration measurement, using optical fiber probe to monitor blade vibration based on different times of arrival. The proposed optical fiber probe with GRIN lens eliminates the tip-timing error caused by varying blade tip clearance, ensuring constant time of arrival regardless of clearance changes.

Summary: The concentration of extracellular vesicles (EVs) is an important attribute of biofluids and EV preparations, which is related to health status. In this study, an ensemble-based characterization method is proposed for measuring EV concentration using a dynamic surface tension (DST) probe, and the results are consistent with the widely used NTA measurements. This low-cost and easy-to-implement method provides a new approach for studying EV concentration.

Summary: This study proposes a method for analyzing the dynamic response errors and accuracy reliability of mechanisms with lubrication clearance joints. The models for lubrication clearance joints and dry contact clearance joints are established, and their influences on the mechanism are compared and analyzed. This research provides a theoretical foundation for the design reliability of mechanisms.

Summary: This article investigates the accuracy of statistical ratios when the numerator and denominator describe a subpopulation affected by classification errors. It derives estimators of the bias and variance using a Taylor expansion and a bootstrap approach, and applies them to two different case studies to demonstrate the utility of the method.

Summary: In this study, a rod-like Fe2OF4 is used as the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalyst loaded on a nickel foam support, showing high-efficient OER activity. It is found that partial ferric ions within Fe2OF4 can leach out and be electrochemically adsorbed on the surface of nickel foam, triggering dynamic surface reconstruction. Based on these findings, a promising method for preparing large-size, low-cost and high-performance OER electrodes is proposed.

Summary: The aim of this study is to investigate the bimodal dynamic SThM for nanomachining. A mathematical model for bimodal SThM is provided and compared with the conventional type. It is shown that bimodal excitation increases amplitudes at shifted resonance frequencies. The effects of tip radius on the final surface are also simulated.
