Summary: This study used constructivist grounded theory to describe the process of engagement in information-seeking behavior for individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Data was gathered through 30 semi-structured interviews of participants attending a wound care clinic in Southeast, Ontario, Canada. Results showed that the engagement process included discovering diabetes, reactions to the diagnosis, and engaging in self-directed learning. Healthcare providers and support networks were found to play an important role in supporting participants' information-seeking behavior, in addition to the Internet. Providing education about diabetes from the time of diagnosis and directing individuals to reliable information resources are crucial.

Summary: This study aimed to identify the specific impact of digital care and coaching by health care professionals (HCP) in blended-care behavior change interventions (BBCI) for weight loss. Long-term data analysis revealed that coaching, self-monitoring, self-management, and education had varying degrees of prediction accuracy for weight loss. Furthermore, the study found that learn time was associated with a higher degree of weight loss, while the number of appointments with a dietitian (coach) had a negative association with weight loss.

Summary: Type 2 diabetes can be treated and sometimes reversed through dietary interventions, with community pharmacists providing an effective low-carbohydrate energy-restricted diet intervention. This intervention can reduce the need for glucose-lowering medications, improve cardiometabolic health, and enhance quality of life for individuals with type 2 diabetes.

Summary: Pursuing a self-regulatory goal, such as weight loss, leads consumers to choose virtue over vice. In the absence of virtuous options, consumers with a self-regulatory goal prefer less variety in exclusively vice options. This decrease in variety seeking in vice categories is motivated by the desire to curb pleasure seeking when pursuing a weight-loss goal.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the association between health literacy and accessing health check test results, searching for individual test result information, and using the national health information online portal in Sweden. The findings showed that individuals with limited health literacy have less access to their personal health information and online health information compared to those with sufficient health literacy. Further research is needed to understand the relationship between health literacy and online health information-seeking behavior, and to ensure equal access to trustworthy and quality-ensured health information through digital health information sources and services.
